As a COD player, I can tell you that most COD players don't want vehicles. They were in WAW and it didn't work. I would want destruction though, but with the 60fps a must, we'll probably have to wait till next gen consoles can handle it.
For me, I hated the maps in MW2 and Blops, but loved COD 4 maps. I really like the maps in MW3 so far though.
Sorry but the biggest problem right now for PS3 players is the frame rate dips. That's not a bug or glitch, that's poor porting skills that Bethesda apparently has never gotten right. It's not like PS3 players don't buy their games either, they sell very well. So it's not a time spent on PS3 vs profit, it's laziness. Personally, I love their games, but I won't buy them new, I plan on getting Skyrim when the used prices drop.
@fluffy, 1 person getting quoted =/= the sentiments of an entire corporation.
From DICE, a whole lot more. This is the reason I haven't bought the game yet for the PS3. For a game focused on teamwork this should have been top priority in development time, not afterward. When it comes to mp games, chat is a must have feature for me. The whole point of an online experience is the social interaction, without that, might as well just play against bots.
@smashcrashbash, the Gears of War 3 commercials were very well done imo.
Well, Sony does does make good commercials, but the ads don't really sell the product, they're just entertaining. Look at Nintendo and MS, their commercials are entertaining AND sell the product.
EDIT: Also, I don't know if this falls under marketing, but why does Sony not release themed and colored consoles in the US? They want to sell more consoles, thats how you do it.
@reddeaddestroyer, you've be surprised how many reviewers have full time jobs other than playing games and writing a review. Reviewing video games will rarely pay enough to support anyone, let alone a family.
@garandshooter, super glue them on. I had the same problem with the triggers until I glued them on.
Sorry, but I thought "gifts" were supposed to be free.
Not gonna lie, I do want to play this. I really like the art direction of the game and the use of the Move controls looks fun.
Well, bluray drives are not pricey like when the PS3 launched. I also read an article that the PS4 will be using a cell based chip again, which will again be cheaper than the PS3's. I think the big cost will come from the RAM, but still, I don't think we will be seeing $600+ consoles. Realistically, I think it will be $349-$400 range.
KC is now my favorite game mode, haven't even played anything else in MW3. I'm loving this game so far, haven't had so much fun in a COD game in a long time.
I'm also glad IW embraced the whole gun-on-gun, fast-paced arcade feel. MW3 has a feel thats unique and the devs are staying true to that. Other devs should take a lesson from that and stay true to their game and core audience.
Ionlyusemeblade is probably the best knife-only player I've seen. Riot shields are funny though because players don't know how to counter them and as you can see they totally get flustered lol.
Yup, congrats. Thats good support for the economy and the people who worked hard on this game. Its a win win no matter what the fanboys say. I guess they'd be happy if Activation went bankrupt, hundreds of employees laid off and EA made all the fps games from now on.
Fallout 3 had a great booklet. Does anyone know if Skyrim had a good booklet?
But if you're not a fan on the franchise then you're NOT a consumer therefor your opinion doesn't matter.
I'm not a fan of the Pokemon franchise, so if I bitch and moan about it does that mean my complaints about it are valid and should matter? Hell no, right?
Metacritic used to be a decent indicator of a game's worth but now its just a bunch of fanboys (journalists included) trying to manipulate scores or draw hits to their sites.
Same here, got plats on 3 and NV, will be picking up Skyrim as soon as i'm done with Uncharted 3, LA Noire and Mass Effect 2.
@DonaldBeck, in NV I would occasionally get MASSIVE frame rate drops and lag. But like most I've overlooked those because the games were so enjoyable and memorable. Visuals between both consoles are the same, but 360 versions don't seem to have fr drops as bad.
And because of that, the PS3 still remains one of the better bluray players out there. Many of the updates are stability/audio/video fixes. Spending 5 minutes to keep my gaming/movie device up to date is not a problem.
