It's kind of a wonky topic, they suggest Microsoft just go full steam ahead and stop listing to fans. Sales speak louder than what's said on forums. Sure there is a vocal minority out there who just continue to spout out noise and will never be a customer regardless. They do however have to use sales as a way to see what works and what doesn't work.

I personally believe it was pre-order numbers and developers that told Microsoft hold on a minute with their initial...

Foxtrot,
"Thing is, if you find something alright and good, something you like then what's the point stating a generic comment like "Looks good" or "I can't wait for this" if I did that to every thing I liked the look of then they would be pointless comments in my opinion."

In your views forums are just a place to bitch about things, is that it? The whole point of releasing trailers and early shots and details about movies and gam...

Me too, Bastion was excellent.

Many of you seem to forget how Sony used to spin the numbers last generation or refused to comment at all. So it's not an uncommon practice. Nintendo does the same thing regarding Wii U sales. I wish Sony would give exact figures for PS4 sales but the good news is it's becoming quite easy to find them for sale.

Foxtrot, you sure seem to have lots of criticisms. I read some of your comments on the Filmwatch site and most are critical. Are you really like this outside of forums? If so I feel sorry for your buddies. Yes we should all be critical when it matters but when that's pretty much all you do is be negative and criticize it's probably time to start changing your behaviors and perhaps go outside.

The Wii U wasn't marketed well, even before it shipped. It was confusing...

Godmars290,

You missed the point. Gold is required to play multiplayer and Netflix was also behind that paywall. I would tend to believe those who paid for Gold were doing so to play multiplayer. So stop generalizing that those who paid to access things like Netflix did so happily and willingly. It's like suggesting I pay for PS Plus because of cloud saves. People defended paying for XBox Gold, not paying for Netflix access. Anyways its here nor there, they dropped it yet...

aerisbueller,

"MS repeatedly lies to their customers, and does anti-consumer nonsense."

Then all I can suggest is carry on with that same mindset. If you feel that passionate to ignore what could be a good product then that's your prerogative. I look for value and what the product offers, that's it. When the X1 came out Microsoft had to try and sell the system with a camera, just like Nintendo is trying to with the special controller which a...

You know what the issue really is deep down on forums like this? It's not Microsoft flip-flopping, it's the constant rhetoric from the same people who would need a blow-torch on their fingers to get them to say anything positive. So no matter what Microsoft does and no matter how the X1 turns out these individuals will keep this negativity flowing. This is what they want, to keep the attention away from anything that may be construed as being positive.

How often do th...

Every year I get sucked into the hype and every year it's mainly been a letdown. That is because it's become a big event that is more about flash than substance. One of the biggest issues for me is many of the games shown don't get released in a timely fashion.

I hope the best for all three.

First off I want to say I prefer disc based games but know digital also has it's place.

By going digital it allows them greater control and more importantly they know where the revenue is going. When someone buys a game digitally they can track your purchases better and in theory cut down or eliminate piracy. It also eliminates the need to ship and have guess work on stock supplies. One benefit to the consumer is the date of release is now automatic and allows the consume...

I think you missed a key point, it wasn't removed but was patched so that the ability was removed. So obviously Nintendo felt the need to correct this 'mistake'. Jim's point however was how Nintendo addressed the issue with the quote,

"Tomodachi Life was intended to be a whimsical and quirky game, and that we were absolutely not trying to provide social commentary.”

Forbes and other sites also agree.

What an odd statement. The X1 has more games coming, much more, than the Wii U. Yet because the X1 also does media well and is also having XBOX Originals the haters have come out in full force declaring the system not to really be a game system.

What's even odder is aside from the indies flocking to the Playstation now (which they didn't like Sony's policies years ago), there really isn't much to distinguish from what the PS4 gets in game content to the X1. Wh...

Reggie is not the problem, Nintendo as a whole is. They still operate like it's the 1980's. Sony isn't doing much better financially (aside from the PS4).

It's not just EA's policies, Sony also shuts down games same as Microsoft (but not as often). If people don't play the games anymore there's not much use keeping the servers going. We are also talking about $60 max for these games and I imagine people have gotten more hours of enjoyment out of them online than most games people play offline. Not trying to defend these policies but rather showing some context to it.

Interesting how resolution and frame rates have become a huge topic this generation with console gamers. They used to scoff at pc gamers who talked about this sort of stuff and called them elitists.

Digital has its benefits but game discs are still better imho. Selling new releases digitally at lower prices than discs would be one way to get people to move over quicker but that would hurt GameStop even more.

"So again, can anyone point me in the direction of any piece of information that states that Sony wanted to own the IP of Sunset Overdrive and Insomniac said no?"

You can't but what we can do is read between the lines. Why did Ninja Theory not own Heavenly Sword and decide to make Enslaved instead? Why did From Software decide to make Dark Souls and not Demons Souls 2? Sony likes to own the ip's and they also own Resistance and Ratchet ip's. Nobody is su...
