Lots of devs who put in hard work making of real games are losing their jobs but this pile of cr*p is making this guy rich. What the hell is wrong with people.
@frostypants,
The gif is running a a quicker speed hence why it looks smoother. Look into what fps means before making stupid comments.
The animated gif does not control frame rate like a normal video and is probably playing back at 40fps if not more.
Maybe you think I'm trolling but my comment was to highlight the fact that all those trees would probably have caused the loss of performance hence why they couldn't achieve 60fps.
Somewhere among those trees is the lost 30fps. ;)
too bad the game doesn't look as smooth as the gif you posted. A shame they couldn't aim for 60fps.
You obviously haven't played the Risen games. The first Risen came out in 2009 and Dark Souls was released in 2011. So who is copying who?
Not sure that it is amazing imt558. With the massive userbase of Xbox360 if the game is still lacking in sales then it shows it is not of interest to a majority like for example CoD.
The higher sales for XBone is explained by the fact that those customers simply don't have much else to buy at the moment.
Tombraider is a great game that fell short of Square Enix's sales expectations last gen.
The remaster has had great sales which ensures that a next-gen sequel is guaranteed. A good move for the devs and the future of the series.
Driveclub will be the odd one out from the AAA racing titles. GT, Project Cars,Forza = 60fps and then theres DC.
Why do that bother putting these <5 sec videos? Ridiculous.
Ah well if the game was 60fps it would have been even shorter.
I wonder if any enemies will be gay.
Then you could kill the buggers... ;)
Sorry just had to get that joke in.
With NFS on PC the devs locked it to 30fps to keep parity with the console versions. After complaints they patched it to lock it at 60fps since a decent pc can easily handle a higher framerate.
Driveclub most likely can handle something like 40-50fps but not quite 60fps hence why they locked it at 30fps.
Too bad the devs are more interested in detailed trees and grass in a bleeding racing game..
The detail these guys are aiming for will go unnoticed by most. Who is actually going to care if the distant mountains have high polygons or the clouds are real when they are racing at 100+ mph?
60 fps would have made a big difference in the feel of the game. I've played NFS Rivals on PC at 30 fps and 60fps after the patch and can honestly say it is a totally better game at 60fps.
Very disappointed with this. Was truly hoping it will be 60fps but that is now out of the window. Who gives a s**t about more trees and mountains..
Still no confirmation of 60fps?
The rather late release date (almost a year from the original launch date) means it will be up against the Crew and some non-racing AAA titles such as Destiny.
DX12 is also supported by AMD so hardly Nvidia's secret weapon. Chances are AMD will have very good DX12 support due to their experience with Mantle and the DX12 development for XB1.
The article makes it look like Nvidia was the only one working with MS on this but in reality MS worked with Intel, AMD and Nvidia.
DirectX 12 was announced at GDC and so have the optimisations to OpenGL so pretty unlikely the OpenGL quickly decided to optimize it due to MS. Give credit where its due...AMD Mantle.
If they had shown something like Titanfall @ 1080p and 60fps then I would have been impressed but they showed a game that already runs at 60fps. What was the point of that?
Only anyone who has a DX12 compatible gpu will be able to use it. So not exactly everyone...unless AMD/Nvidia are planning to bring support to their older cards.
Digital games have to be cheaper to compete with the resale value of a physical disc. Most people will sell their disc and get back at least 50% of their purchase price but you can't sell digital games.
