It said more dialog than I could guess. I guessed 10 million hours worth, so according to the title of the article, it's more than that. I can also guess three hundred and ninety trillion hours worth. Apparently it's more than that as well.
Yeah, it's a deal breaker because people are too lazy to walk to the console and switch disks on 360 ONE TIME during the course of the game. No wonder people think gamers are fat and lazy.
It does look quite good on PC, particularly the alien races, which are kinda hard to compare to Uncharted's slightly cartoony human style:
I'm a PS3 owner and I played it a year ago. It's not new to me.
I agree, but 45 minutes isn't worth the price they are asking. DLC should be 2:1 dollars:hours. If the DLC is 1 hour long, it should cost $2. If it's 2 hours long, $4. If they want to make it $10, it should be at least 5 hours long, particularly for an "RPG".
From a 1 minute trailer showing only cutscenes? Really? How do you figure? The game is set to release in a matter of months and that's the only thing they've showed off for the game so far. That coupled with the fact that they feel compelled to "trick" people into thinking Rockstar is making this game so they'll buy it no matter what really worries me.
This is what's wrong with this game. Team Bondi is the developer yet they are so unknown that they are saying that Rockstar is doing all the work simply so people will buy it. That scares me a little. That makes me think they are not confident in how good the game is, and instead have to make it seem to the average Joe that Rockstar is making this game just so they can get 2 million pre-orders and whatnot, even if they know the game is going to suck. Sure, it looks good, but we have seen ...
Why do they keep saying it's Rockstar's game? If I was Team Bondi I would be pretty pissed off that I never get credit for actually developing the damn thing.
It's not dying, we just had shitty games this year. I know I personally only bought about half the amount I normally get, just because it's all the same shit and nothing new. Could it be not that our hobby is dying, but rather the industry is getting stale and we are getting sick of playing the same Modern Warfare 12 and Modern Warfare ripoff 14 games? Try developing something new for a change and maybe people like me will be more inclined to buy.
Yet overall, 360 games still outsell PS3 games globally. So what. 360 is popular in North America and nowhere else, hardly a news flash, we knew this years ago and it hasn't really changed. PS3 sales are catching up for software but still every multiplatform game that comes out sells better on the 360.
More than 10 million hours of dialog? Crazy.
I completely agree. I hate the word "gamer" by itself. I say I play video games, I don't say "I'm a gamer", that just sounds douchey. Also, yeah, the word seems to have a negative connotation to it, like it's almost forbidden. If you say you are a gamer people automatically assume you are lazy, unambitious, a procrastinator and have no social life. They talk down to you like you are wasting your life, and you should follow their opinion on how you should live y...
I want it to be good but I'm not getting my hopes TOO high. I'm sure it'll still be a good game no matter what, but time will tell if it'll be great and memorable.
One of the many reasons never to play an MMO on console.
Uncharted > Uncharted 2
I don't think I would ever play an MMO on console. I just don't "get it" I guess.
Bioware is guilty of this above any other company. Charging $10 for 45 minutes of gameplay is criminal.
I agree with Bulletstorm as it seems the least stale of everything people mentioned on here. There are some others I wouldn't consider straight shooters (like Deus Ex) that look good as well though.
Probably not. I don't think it'll really change anything.
I enjoyed Mass Effect 2 much more. RDR was good but I find open world games to be buggy and poorly paced, simply because you essentially pace it yourself, and most people suck at doing that, which is why they aren't game developers. I enjoyed it but I played it once, didn't bother finishing all the side stuff and never touched it again and don't really feel compelled to either. Mass Effect 2 on the other hand, I've played through about 5 times.
