Not liking the sound of the changed multiplayer and added twitch controls, that's about the only thing that made Killzone 2 remotely unique. Now it's just like every other shooter...sigh.
I was going to say that but you beat me to it. It's Steamworks, not Steam. They are not going to be selling tons of games over it on the PS3, it's strictly for crossplatform stuff and maybe some patches and free updates for Valve games, it is not going to be anywhere close to the Steam service on PC.
That's cool. Kinda ugly planet but whatever. Looking forward to pvp in this place.
Just to clarify, I don't like Halo or CoD for the same reasons. Also, to clarify, I bought Uncharted 2 on day one and played it probably 3 or 4 times, and some of the multiplayer as well and have a platinum with it. I never said I hated the game. I enjoyed it, though not as much as the first simply because the formula was the same and the game lacked the "heart" that the first one had. When the first game came out, it felt like an underdog. "The little game that could"...
Thanks for the link, I hadn't heard of ArcheAge, it looks really cool, I'll have to keep an eye on it.
No, he's completely right. No matter how uncreative, short, linear and straightforward a game is with no innovation, nothing special about it, nothing particularly amazingly done about it, if it's a PS3 exclusive and has good graphics people will say it's game of the year, just like Uncharted 2, another game people cannot look objectively at. They say it's the best game ever made yet they can't come up with a single reason why. It has mediocre cover based shooting mechanic...
It did a lot of things right but it was a buggy, empty world with a LOT of repetition and not nearly the amount of depth or content as a GTA game. Definitely not a bad game but completely understandable that it's not game of the year for a lot of people, and definitely not one of the best games ever made. I don't understand why people have such an inability to objectively assess games.
That's a little harsh. It was a good game. Definitely not GOTY material in my books (Mass Effect 2 was mine) but I agree that 2010 kinda sucked compared to 2009 and 2011. A lot of people say 2010 was the best year for gaming ever which I will never understand. There were very few games that were really good.
Then again, a lot of people like shitty Halo and Call of Duty games so who knows.
Stupid list.
I can understand that. For how long it took, it wasn't as mindblowing as it could have been, and it was on the short side, but the overall experience was awesome.
It's a shame, Alan Wake was a great game, though to be fair, I didn't buy it either. It was the one game in the last like 10 years that I actually rented. It was short but very well done. I know a lot of people didn't like it though.
Skyrim, Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age 2, Guild Wars 2, The Last Guardian, Project Dark, Diablo 3, The Old Republic, Rage, etc etc etc are all pushing the envelope above and beyond their predecessors, offering more freedom, depth and innovation. What do you get with Uncharted 3? ANOTHER linear 8 hour third person shooter. Don't let your blind fanboyism rob you of some amazing gaming experiences.
Yes, they can patch it, but since the game has gone gold it is no longer in the beta stage of development. Gamers wouldn't be testing beta code, they would be testing code from the finished version of the game. I guess they could call it open Gamma testing or something...
It's called PATCHES.
Looks a little silly with the glowing visor...didn't know they had the technology to produce LED lights in the middle ages. Other than that I guess it's okay. At least they attempted to make it look somewhat medieval. The only thing that confuses me though, is the stats are for a rogue but it's clearly heavy armor and in the picture, Hawke is using a two handed sword...wut?
The fanboys have hit a new low. These arguments are pathetic.
I'm not saying Microsoft didn't pay for the demo rights but there ARE other factors that could lead to the reason there is no PS3 demo. Maybe because the demo would have been like 10gb, who knows? Or because of the beta that was on 360. It's already known that Crytek is closer to Microsoft. Both Crysis and Crysis Warhead were Games for Windows games, and they are making an exclusive game (Codename: King...
Hopefully that's all the multiplayer trophies. I hated those. Hopefully the hidden ones are just story related.
Cryengine 3 is actually a small step down in overall graphics from Cryengine 2. It just runs a lot smoother and was developed as a multi-platform engine. You can still get better looking graphics out of Cryengine 2.
How do you know? Have you played it and beaten it 3 times like the reviewer has? What's that? You haven't even played it because it's not out yet? Then how do you know it deserves higher than a 9 which is still considered a great score?! God, I can't stand people who think 9 or under is a bad game.
Oh who gives a shit.
But seriously, of course they'll make another Halo, it makes money, why wouldn't they? I thought it was going to be an MMO.
