Anyone else sick of these article titles that always end in a question mark? They make serious claims but escape all accountability simply by adding a question mark, so they can say that they were asking a question to their audience rather than making a statement.
If you truly believe that it's the best sim racer yet, grow some balls and stand behind your belief. It is, after all, an opinion piece.
I don't think it's as simple as you are making it out to be. If you don't buy a game day 1, you are not denying someone money. That is implying that they are entitled to the money in the first place. Game developers are part of the entertainment industry, which is in competition as much with your money as it is with your time. Respect and financial compensation must be earned in the entertainment industry. If it's an inferior product, the company is not entitled to X amount of...
If you can give me an honest answer as to why you are a better judge of a game you have never played (and don't give me that shit about playing the beta, cause it says specifically at the very start of the review that it is based solely on the single-player campaign) than someone who has played it, you will not only earn my respect but I will go out and buy the game on day 1.
I found it entertaining as well, but that video did point out quite a few flaws.
I find it funny how all these people are disagreeing with you just because you don't lavish praise on the game for the sole reason that it's a PS3 exclusive. God, why can't anyone look at games objectively anymore? Sony could shit in a box and these people would give it a 10/10 a month before they even get to PLAY the game.
I've been good about not buying games day 1 for the last 6 months or so...I can't even remember the last game I bought day 1 to be honest. I still try to pick games up new, but at a discounted price. And games that I think I want really bad at the time, I end up not getting at all. A little patience reminds you that games are just another material possession that nobody really NEEDS, even if we think we do at the time.
Dude, don't rag on Bubsy, that game was fucking boss.
Hence the joke. I am well aware that Uncharted is nowhere close to being an adventure game. PS3 fanboys, unfortunately, are not.
To be fair, both came out before this generation's consoles, and a ton of those sales are in Japan. What I meant by they wont outsell consoles is that, being released now, I very much doubt the NEW round of handhelds (NGP and 3DS) will outsell this generation of consoles by the time new consoles are released, and at that point, everyone will be back on the new generation of consoles bandwagon.
Saying that NGP may be the end of consoles is just foolish. As you mentioned, ...
I sincerely hope not. I have no interest in playing hunched over a 4 inch screen when I can be relaxing in front of a 50+ inch one.
Sure it will sell, there are some people out there who want an experience like this, but for every one of them, there are 5 who don't, which is why it will never outsell consoles. And regardless of what games are going to be released by established developers, they will always be lackluster in comparison to their console counterparts.
I have to agree with the community manager and disagree with the author of this article, for one simple reason. You wanted proof that Treyarch has done something original in the last few years? There isn't any. They haven't, and you know why? Because of attitudes of gamers are stifling that creativity, just as the community manager said. How is that so hard to understand? Call of Duty fans want the same game year after year. Why do you think it sells so well? They don't want anyth...
stfu nub
I wish these deals extended beyond the US...here I am paying full price for games like a sucker.
I can be part of it too? You mean I can own dying kids in online shooters? Bad ass.
Bravo.
I'm waiting for someone to say "THEY ARE ALREADY BACK CUZ OF UNCHARTED 2".
Why would a 7/10, 4.5 hour long game sell systems?
BURN!
Here we go again...
I agree about the action to story ratio being a little too high in the second game. I honestly didn't notice until my girlfriend pointed it out to me. I went back and played the first and sure enough, you can run around for hours without ever fighting a single enemy whereas in 2, you're lucky if you can go 10-15 minutes without having to kill something. That being said, the combat system in the second game is SO much better than in the first, it's almost forgivable, and the reason...
Looks so awkward pointing your gun in the direction you turn every time. Nobody moves like that...
A LOT of JRPG developers are struggling this generation. Western RPGs have come leaps and bounds in the last few years, and JRPGs seem to be going backwards. They need to get with the times like developers such as From Software, who have embraced western RPG design philosophy while still retaining an eastern feel, or they will go belly up in the long run.
It's evident that these developers can no longer just rely on a name to sell a product, they actually have to put in ...
