Well most online forums have a strong Sony fan base. It's all about downplaying Xbox games. I've never seen so much downplaying before.

Not really. It's more likely that the game just isn't rare. You can buy it anywhere. There are lotsif copies available therefore no need to buy it for much.
The more widespread a product becomes the cheaper it can be.

I want the game to be amazing.
But to be honest I know that if the game isn't good it won't matter. It will get defended to no end in the forums.
There are other games to play.
The chances of it not being good based on track record however is extremely low.
