your math is way off, if M$ was giving the dev team 70% wouldn't' that mean $70 out of $100.

And as the author of this news stated, they thought that 70% was rather high in the first place, but they weren't going to refuse the money.

What M$ is doing is; all that upfront spending that might prevent indie developers from even getting the foot in the door, M$ will give that to them for free for a lil bit better return on their percentage. And publisher fees, certif...

some people are looking or trying to spin this article saying the M$ is trying to take advantage of these indie game developers, when they are clearly not. But a lot of people on this site don't really know economics or how hard developing a game can be.

You can tell by comments like flash based games, that's pure ignorance (dictionary form of the word, if you don't know look it up). But the funny/not so funny thing is that i'm hearing the whole "flash based games" co...

like the halo and mountain dew, but the sync ads are direct result of microsofts partnership, other than that, they don't really advertise much on live, outside of live specific things that let you know what's new on live. We are not pounded with ads, don't let anyone on here mislead you.

There was the ad for dorito's, but that was directly game related, it was to design your own game i think. The mountain dew was to let you choose what color the new bottle was going to be. So ...

if you have a preference console, then by all means do. But don't make things up. Oblivion, Fight Night (which has been proven to look better on the 360 in a theater by a blind audience, look up the story), and COD 4 has been repeatedly stated that they are identical.

Oblivion's last release for the 360 had all the visual improvements that the PS3 version got, and is stated to look better then the PS3 couterpart.

Fifa 08 has been toted to graphically be better on the...

it was just a demonstration of crowd technology, that's it. He didn't say that they were implementing any AI into the demonstration. Stop looking for something to complain about. It was just a demonstration of new tech that's in the Unreal Engine. They weren't demonstrating a fully functional game.

i think the zune is a great success, the fact that it took the #2 spot is very impressive. The fact that it's being compared to the already successful I-pod is a showing achievement. No company has made a Mp3 player device worth mentioning other than I-pod. the fact that you can have a conversation with people and ask what do you think about the Zune, shows that support is growing. That's a direct result from marketplace awareness. You can't just walk up to people and ask, what do you think a...

The gamerzone has turned into the openzone, at first the rules were strict, but now i think the moderators don't care. I've seen worse in this zone. But i never get why people would rather buy the multi-plat for the PS3 over the 360. In my case, i have a gold memborship, so it's beneficial if i buy my multi-plat titles for the 360 over the PS3 (when i get mines, but they gotta stop shuffling around the BC version of the PS3 and bundle in the DualShock 3 before i'll buy), atleast that makes se...

M$ has never said Halo is the king, The Media said that, and is proclaiming that. And Also, the big impressive thing about Halo 3's sales is that it is a console exclusive, that's all. For a console exclusive to do that well in sales has never been done before, especially in this genre. Like i stated before, i'm not taking anything from CoD4, it's a great game. But it is also multi-plat. You'll have to look at it's individual system selling to really get the whole picture behind Halo 3.

Just because you don't like something, means it's not good. I know a lot of people with Wiis and they absolutely love the thing. It's not as if people are buying them and not using them. Their Wii's get extensive play, and it encompasses their whole family. Wii is targeted towards the casual gamer, an idea that is ingenious if you ask me, because they are converting those casual gamers. My friends play that thing for hours at a time. Just like we hardcore gamers play our games for hours at a ...

Halo 3 had great innovations, and real gamers appreciate them. No one is taking any thing from CoD4, but Halo 3 brought more to the table for console FPS gaming. I think the only thing impressive about CoD4 was the 60fps, beautiful graphics, and the upgrades for ranking up. There is no innovation in that besides the last one, but i hear that other games have done that. CoD4 just did it tighter and had a better package. Other than those 3 things, in my opinion, Halo 3 brought more to the genre...

his comment was one of the best i've read, and the funny thing is that i don't think the person (DJ) underneath read his whole comment, or he wouldn't have made his comment.

I think Hillary did his rant for hit's. Plain and simple, the fanboys on both sides are a large community, so if they find a website bashing "their" (delusional thoughts of ownership with company) competition, they flock to that website, and that person can get their 15 minutes of internet celebri...

But what i don't understand, is why do people (fanboys) seem to think that it would be better if the 360 was never released. Statements like Daze are just immature fanboy rhetoric. The competition between these 3 companies is what is giving us the greatest gamer experiences of our lives. Instead you should be thanking your opponents for raising the bar.

Supposedly Sony is releasing an in-game XMB for the PS3, ummm without the 360's innovation, that idea would have been moot. No...

That's it, they would rather stay loyal to their countries console than accept a foreign console. No matter what M$ does, their penetration of that market is going to be slow and expensive. They can get all the Japanese developers on board, but it'll still be a slow and arduous process. Sorry to sound pessimistic, but japan is just that hard.

There have been statements made by Japanese developers that say that Western developers are starting to move ahead of them in game develo...

sure one sku would be better, but make it the BC sku. Sony made a bold claim and stated that the PS3 would be BC and they should stay true to that claim. Even though the 80gig models BC is not (i think, don't quote me on that) as in-depth as the 60gig, something is better than nothing. And it'll decrease the unfulfilled promises feeling that i've been feeling. But, that's my opinion, and i know i do not represent the majority.

I currently have a 360 which i feel is awesome and ...

even though i think the card readers are not exactly necessary, i do think that the 60 gig was the best one, it's the one that was originally envisioned by Sony. And it has all the parts that were suppose to encompass their next gen offering. It will probably be the one most highly sought after by die hard Sony fans. I would prefer that model with 2 DualShock 3 controllers and headsets

I'm waiting for them to bundle in the DualShock 3 controllers, i love racing games, and i feel that rumble is essential, plus with FPS games, when your about to die, that pulse that simulates your heartrate is awesome. I hope by then they will still be releasing BC compatible units, that's a feature that i need also. Trying to reduce the clutter around my entertainment setup.

I started a whole forum on that notion, that these are consoles. The whole idea for consoles is that you just put the disc in and start playing, not wait for the install and then start playing. And then if you delete the install, in order to play the game again later on, you'll have to re-install that chunk of data. Kinda makes consoles pointless, might as well have a PC and use the 360 controller since it's compatible.

My whole fear is that if other developers start adopting t...

it's o.k. to disagree, we can agree to disagree you know. It's just that why not compile all your ideas together and then release an update, having to update constantly is rather annoying. But not only that, it makes it look rushed and incomplete. It does not behave like a game console. I mean people complain all the time about M$ Windows and all their updates. But i guess it's o.k. for one company to do it, but not others.

Look at Blu Ray, is it standardized yet....? Does it m...
