There are so many Wii games that are already 4-player couch co-op or versus. Like Mario Party, SSB, New Super Mario Bros. Wii, etc, that would be perfect for online. SSB is already online, just Nintendo's online is so gimped it doesn't really matter.
If they just fixed it up and gave it some necessary parts like a headset and a friends list.. It would be golden, and it would literally not change those games, since they're pretty much already made for that stuff. ...

Anyways, for serious, they do not need a new console for online. Release a headset that can be used instead of roomspeak, and then patch their first party co-op games like SSB, new super mario bros. wii, etc to use it. Another change that they need is also just another patch, just make it so people can have an actual gamertag and have a friends list.

If Sony was only planning on the short term, then I think they would have left blu-ray out. But, they plan for a decade. Blu-ray is making it possible for PS3 exclusives to be huge one disk games, like MGS4, and plus they can make bank all over again on old titles remastered on one disk.
