Yes it still requires a dev kit to get it running on the PS3, the engine is basicly a conversion tool for getting a game you made on PC to work on the PS3. For example dirt was made using this engine on PC then ported to both 360 and PS3 and turned out extremely well on both.
I understand what he's saying but wouldn't the 360 still be a better choice considering you have people already used to buying buttloads of crap (gamer pics, themes, movies, xbla games, music videos) and a much larger user base with 10 million+ on Live. People like PSN because it's free and you don't need a credit card, I'm hesitant to see how people other people on PSN react to spending money other than the hardcore crowd that willingly give their surport because they know games cost money t...
I'll be doing the same, I only wish I had a Beta player too. A piece of history for us all.
Well this isn't so bad considering that all stores will be clearensing out HD-DVDs soon. Grab this and the 50 or so movies that are out there for cheap and enjoy a piece of history like those guys who have working Beta players. Heck you could just get this to play DVDs in so you don't wear down your 360 DVD drive.
You can bet from the teaser that they are adding the button mashing "mini game" to melees that they originally intended. No more of those random chainsawing when both are revved up.
Let me explain why they didn't show an in game trailer for those of you who don't understand. The teaser was to show us that they are emphasizing story far more than last time. I called the anouncement months ago and now I will bet that Gears 2 will be playable at E3, albeit behind closed doors (aka Halo 3 style).
Resitance didtn't sell 3 million to just the install base but people who have picked a PS3 up over the year. The PS3 still has a long way to go to catch up but with blu ray the dominant next gen dvd format it will definately move consoles. But hey, no one looses in a console war unless they don't like what they've bought.
Nothing I would want is on Blu-Ray yet so it makes no difference to me. I prefer watching things on my PVP more than sitting down in front of the TV, but I do travel a lot. Most importantly I am not what I would call a "movie" person anyhow and am probably in the minority in how I do things, but there are people like me as well. I never even replaced the movies I had on VHS with dvds. As a gamer do I think this makes a difference? My answer would be to look at the Wii, doesn't even ...
Just as a possibility but memory cards. Transfer your gamer tag and then download the game temporarily on his xbox. Also doesn't gametap rent games in a manner through downloads? Yes there is a convenience factor of having a disk but so is there in not having one. Any other questions cause I'm sure I can answer them in concept.
Wasn't kim kutagi the first one to mention PS4? It's no secret that all 3 are working on their next console day and night as of now not when sales start dropping off...
I couldn't see them going for a Wii design simply because how afraid third parties are of it (how many top selling third party games on the Wii are there). MS needs to keep the Xbox games as closely tied to PC games as possible for it's Vista/Live cross over titles. But good point about the web browser, you have a phone, pc, laptop, psp, umpc, ds with browser, Wii, or PS3 for that so why do they HAVE to have one?
Well at least the RROD doesn't kill you in a house fire like those early PS2 slims... A system that malfunctions is easier to send back than one that melts.
The bad thing about dedicated servers is what happens when a new game comes out or the company goes under, no more servers. There are two sides to everything and we need to keep that in mind.
I guess that's what happens when you try to use your mobile phones internet conection as a modem... Not that I would know or anything...
2012 seems too far away IMHO. I think we'll see it as early as 2009 E3 or X09. 5 years seems to be the sweet spot because that's when they start getting too far behind the PC, which I blieve MS has every intention of keeping up with it for multiplats with Vista.
I wouldn't blame them for anyone buying an HD-DVD player, I would blame the consumer for not knowing what's going on in the world. Oh well at least those dual HD-DVDs will work in a Blu Ray or normal DVD player.
So Patriots, the PS3 can format a HDD in 25seconds but you have to wait 21 minutes to play Devil May Cry 4?
(Sorry couldn't resist;)
I've known people who sold both their PS3 and 360 for a Wii. You can't say Wii is selling because of it's price when people are shelling out $400+ on Ebay. Everybody needs to realize that there is not going to be a "PS2" in this generation. As long as the game developers are happy, I'm happy, because they are the only true necessity as long as PC's exsist.
It's an American console being shown on an American channel, am I the only one who sees the connection?
How will the console wars be over this year? One console selling more than another? It doesn't look to me as if any of the consoles are going to discontinue manufacturing any time soon. Are they going to stop making games for one of the consoles this year? For a business profit=victory.
