I am reminded of the BAM moment with Natal and the avatar foot.
Why wouldn't they buy it on PS3 if they have that option? I mean, it's like the people who bought Basyoneta on PS3 instead of 360. You are just an idiot. Am I right?
I have it on PC. Seems the connection issues have been fixed as I haven't had any issue of being booted after connecting. I do however try to connect to a server sometimes and nothing happens.
My biggest gripe is the vsync. You have to turn it on, change your resolution, then change it back to the resolution you want for it to work. You have to do this every time you play if you want vsync. Un-cool.
I'm surprised no one has commented on the fact that the 360 version has trimmed in game movies to compensate for the longer load times. They mention it in the comparison.
They notice the 360 had about 4-5 sec longer loading time however when the video was playing they were only about 1 sec difference and they couldn't figure it out until they realized the 360 version had cut 1-2 sec of footage out of the video. why? No clue.
Or their environments are getting a lot smaller with less interaction and less things going on at once. You know, so they can have it on consoles without any issues.
I'm pretty sure Microsoft was only referring to Blue Ray disks being used for movies. That's why they mention streaming HD in 1080P.
In gaming sense though, they can't use Blue Ray now. It would split their user base too much. That time has passed. They will either use Blue Ray or some form of High capacity storage next gen. That I'm sure of. They have to. The DVD format is definitely reaching its limits.
If they want to sell this tech, they really need to get some artist to create some better show pieces for them. Comparison shots would be great.
EXP: This is what a WW2 soldier looks like with polygons. Now this is what he looks like with Unlimited data.
The article makes it sound like they were primarily talking about movies. They even mention streaming HD movies in 1080P. I would say Blue ray is not entirely needed for HD films since I can get the same quality with digital distribution.
"Microsoft has told CVG that it considers digital media - and not the Blu-Ray disc - the 'future of home entertainment'."
They don't say for Xbox 360 specifically. Their comment sounds more about movies than games. Especially if you read further into the article. They talk about streaming HD films.
They clearly say in the article that they don't need blue ray because they feel digital distribution will be thee answer. Why put it on a disk when you can store it on a hard drive? 50g BR disk or a 250g hard drive with much faster read speeds. Now which format seems to be the lesser? Now I seriously doubt Microsoft will just go with this method this gen and as we all know the DVD format is causing some limitations in certain cases (exp: lost planet 2). There are arguments about games being t...
Its a very simple explanation. The reviews for the 360 version are very slow coming out since people got them way after PS3 version. This is why there is almost double the PS3 reviews in meta instead of the same. Give it a few weeks and let all the reviews come in. It will even out and I can almost promise you the PS3 avg score will be higher.
Looking over some other comments. It seems people are under the impression that there are some biased sites that only reviewed the PS3 ve...
DRM's are obviously not the answer to piracy. There has to be a better way. I like what EA has done with the free for people who bought the game content and pay for those that don't have the code to put in.
Im hoping early second half of year. Toooo many good games.
They never said that they cut it to make it the same as the 360 version. They only stated they had content that was cut form the game. This happens with ALL GAMES. It happened with killzone 2. They had to cut content in order to meet deadlines. Whether or not the DVD format had a factor in that decision we won't know because Square hasn't said it. It is only speculation from people. Even if the game was only on the PS3 there would have been content cut. I think if anything, people can complai...
While I agree, FFXIII is much better on PS3, I wouldn't call FF a Playstation franchise. It has been on every major platform (company wise) except Sega. I think the majority of the younger gamers now only think of it as a PS title as they started gaming with the PS2.
It's the wii with prettier games. Unfortunatly that's what they are trying to do. Grab some of the wii's market. That more than means more garbage wii type games.
How was the story?
I could never play through a rpg without knowing what was being said. The story is what matters to me. Really wish they gave the ps3 owners the option for jap voices. Fillout the rest of that blueray.
I worded that poorly. I meant that as far as over population went (amount of people more than what they estimated to have), the 360 had most.
exc: they expected 1.2 mil people to play the pc version and 1.5 ended up playing
they expected 1m ps3 people to get the ps3 version and 1.2 mil got it
they expected 900k 360 people to get the 360 version and 1.4m got it.
The difference between what they expected and what actually got it was a lot high...
Where is the ventilation. I've seen enough D&D games played to know that there will be some smelly ass people there. The room needs a good vent system to keep things cool and smelling fresh. Maybe some required soap on a rope hanging from one of the walls?
Hey SOAD, nice to see you can read an article. The biggest benefit of unlimited data is they created a sdk that allows point rendering without a huge cpu hit. In fact, they said they are able to do it through software with little time at all. They can get this running on the DS for goodness sake. They talk about the algorithm that lets them do it in the videos on their site. The art looks bad in the images because it is programmer art and well, it is bad.
The break through this ...
