I like the idea of the new disguise system, but it doesn't really work at the moment. They need to decrease the distance that enemies wearing the same disguise can spot you. They also need to get rid of the new system when it doesn't make sense, for example the stall owners in the Chinatown square chasing you through crowds.

I would love to try it for myself, but apparently Ubisoft doesn't want money from UK PC gamers, so I can't buy AC3 or FC3.

Although to call it a 'zombie' is stretching it.

Anyway on topic, DayZ and The Walking Dead were the type zombie games I was waiting for, and now we have them I'm pretty fed up with the standard zombie game. Until someone mixes the two: an open world realistic zombie survival game, but with realistic human characters and consequences to your decisio...

David Cage says his focus in development of his upcoming PS3 exclusive is "creating an emotional journey," adding: "I'm not interest in giving [players] 'fun'."

Surely this emotional journey is fun for the player, why else would they play the game? Since when is fun based on game mechanics alone and not story? If that were the case nobody would enjoy films.

Combined Operations is on sale on Bohemia Interactive's online store right now.

You can get a Steam copy or a standalone copy and all the money goes to the devs. Plus you get a map, which is really useful for DayZ. I bought it the other day, epic game: both DayZ and vanilla Arma II.

exactly, all this ruling is saying is that digital games are the same as physical copies when it comes to resale or giving away. You own the license to the software on a disc or that you downloaded, not the software itself.

4945d ago 0 agree1 disagreeView comment

You don't own the games, the EU court never said that.

“An author of software cannot oppose the resale of his ‘used’ licences allowing the use of his programs downloaded from the internet.”

This doesn't change the fact you own a license to use the software, not the software itself. It just allows you to sell or trade this license without the software owners stopping you.

As said in the article, women play an important part in the Alien franchise and it seems strange not to include them in multiplayer. However it not that big of a deal, sure it would be nice, but it's hardly a game-breaker. It may be because of multiplayer specific reasons that they aren't included. Also it's only in multiplayer, I presume single player will still feature female marines.

Origin isn't that bad, I have it installed because of ME3 and I've never experienced any issues. The store is a joke yes, but for a beta client the rest is good. The main issue is EA's preventing release on Steam, which I prefer to have my games on.

Of course the above opinion is purely based on Origin itself and not EA's other money grabbing activities.

you're right, these are bullshots. If you look at the 5th 'screenshot' it's blatantly obvious. The game looks great, but nowhere near that good.

So THQ is already bordering on the edge of collapse and they publish a game that needs to sell 2 million just to break even? I hope they succeed: Company of Heroes, Metro and the Warhammer franchises are great, and South Park looks good too.

I didn't miss your point at all, you were pointing out how (in your opinion) the similarity between Ellen Page and Ellie was about the same as Joel and Hugh Jackman, as in pretty much non-existent. However judging by the amount of disagrees you're getting it appears you are the one who is "blind as fuck". I was just saying Joel looks like Hawke, that doesn't mean I didn't understand your post.

Nope, Joel looks like Hawke from DA2

"It's clear to me that the PC port of Dark Souls will be a wasted investment. They'll probably sell ... hmm ... 10,000 units at most."

It's a wasted investment because they have made no effort at all to do a good port, they are basically saying "we don't care if we sell a quality product, we just want to port it quickly and make money". This game will be pirated to hell on PC, most of which will be from people who were originally planning t...

I honestly can't see how anyone pays these ridiculous prices for digital goods. As the article says most retailers charge £40 for a new game, and if you shop around there is usually a price war around the low 30s between online retailers. Plus you actually get a box, disc and 'manual' with a retail copy.

4972d ago 2 agree0 disagreeView comment

The fact that they spent the minimum on a straight port is going to cause more piracy than investing the effort to make a good port. Sure you get people who would pirate anyway, but I guarantee people who would have bought it are going to pirate it instead because it's a shoddy port that uses GFWL. Afterwards the devs will blame piracy for poor sales, despite it being their fault for releasing a shoddy product.

I'd love to see what Rocksteady can do without basing the game on an established franchise, the Batman games were amazing, but it would be nice to see what they could come up with themselves.

I have seen zero advertising for Starhawk in the UK, just as there is almost no advertising for any Sony games here. If they expect to sell big numbers people who don't surf gaming websites or buy gaming magazines need to know that the game actually exists.

Timed DLC is a stupid practice, however it does have it's bonuses for PC and PS3. Lets face it, Bethesda games and DLC always have bugs, this basically means the Xbox players are beta testing the DLC, and everything (hopefully) will be fixed when it releases on PS3 and PC. Its not exactly a massive wait, just sort of minor inconvenience.

This guy is clearly an opportunist looking for cash. If he really only cared that his idea was supposedly copied then he would have brought this up after the first game, or at the latest the second. It's not like Assassins Creed isn't a popular and well known franchise.
