This type of foolishness really grinds my gears. The Wii U is fully capable of running Project CARS at a solid 60FPS, much less 30 FPS in 720p. If an indie-studio like Shin'en Multimedia can get a racing title to run at 60FPS 720p using 4k and 8k textures with a crew of only SIX PEOPLE, then Slightly Mad Studios needs to be ashamed of themselves.
Nintendo has already stated that there will be no NX news at E3, history has proven that Nintendo releases their home consoles...
Yeah. The roster on KI is probably the most diverse of a fighting game I've seen. They went through great lengths to make sure that each character is as unique as possible.
Since 1985 Nintendo has released their home consoles in North America every 5-6 years.
NES - 1985
SNES - 1991
N64 - 1996
GameCube - 2001
Wii - 2006
Wii U -2012
If Nintendo is not releasing any tangible information (specs, games in development, concept, etc) until 2016 (probably at E3) about NX it stands to reason to make an assumption that based on past history we will not see NX until Holiday 2017 at the earliest which...
^^ This post for the win.
And the Budokai art-style as well. Actually I wished that the team that does the Ultimate Ninja Storm games was doing the DBZ games as well.
These financial results are saying that Nintendo is the the black. They are no longer suffering operating losses and are making money that can actually go into the bank.
Sort of like how if Nintendo had not of stepped in and funded them Bayonetta 2 would not have happened and Devil's Third would not be happening. It is a strategic move for Sony and works well for THEM, but for Capcom not so much.
Pretty much what I expected it to be. Sega needs to bag it with Sonic. He's done.
There are a lot of genres and gaming types that a lot of people enjoy that are noticeably absent on the Wii U. Not only that, but their first party content isn't pulling them in like they used to. I mean DKC:TF just sold around 600,000 copies. That's pretty bad. Super Mario 3D World sold about 2 million which isn't bad, but for a Mario game I think the number should be higher. They definitely need more variety to draw consumers in. Not everyone wants to play platformers and pa...
''What the other companies are doing makes business sense. But it’s boring. The same games appear on every system.''
Well that's his opinion. The sales indicate that people WANT those same games. If people were so starved for innovation as he claims then why is it that the PS4 and XB1 outsell the Wii U?
Just about every game on the Wii U worth having is an exclusive, yet really hasn't helped much. The sales of DKC:TF should have been...
That's a good point you bring up about the dungeon-style.
This game was in-development (at least 2 years) long before the latest iteration of CryEngine was deployed so it wouldn't make much since to say that it would use the 'latest' CryEngine.
That's no different that the fact that Unreal Engine 4 games won't start showing up until LATE this year at the earliest, mid next year probable.
Wow. Never seen that game until today. Those graphics are pretty impressive for a Wii title. Shin'nen definitely knows their stuff.
Nintendo needs to buy them outright and expand their studios.
It seems that studios that actually have time to work on Wii U games or care to study the hardware to see how powerful it really is seem to come up with very pleasing results.
I've never played their Art Of Balance games before so this would be a new experience for me.
Nah, they just need to fire Iwata.
Yup on all accounts. I can think of a few more games that can get the core back.
Wave Race
1080 Snowboarding
F-Zero
StarFox
Metroid
Eternal Darkness
Crusin USA
Raven Blade
Conduit
No More Heroes
Red Steel
Excitebike/Truck/Bots
Mario Strikers
And then reach out to so 3rd parties an fund exclusive Wii U games like they did for the N64. Talk to Sega about bringing Virt...
Probably hiding in the same place that analysts and Nintendo detractors were hiding after the 3DS became the number-one selling console worldwide and fastest-selling console EVER by reaching half of the PS3 and 360 total install base in just 2 years.
"Great" is a relative term in this sense. Considering that the Wii U sales were in the toilet for the majority of 2013 so even an increase of 340% is not enough to dig them out of the hole.
The part i...
Reggie's cryptic tweet combined with Shin'nen Game also saying they will reveal their new Wii U game in the next 24 hours lead me to believe a Nintendo Direct is coming.
It remains to be seen if Nintendo is this smart, but dropping a couple of bombs out in front of Super Mario 3D World would be enough to give people whom don't own any 8th-gen consoles yet pause before choosing a console this holiday season.
I'd rather see Apple or Disney buy Nintendo so that Iwata can be shown "DIRECTLY" to the door so that someone that actually know how to cater to the all gamers and not just his own niche crowd can run the company.
If Apple bought Nintendo they would have a bottomless pit of capital in order to fund console development and they could make their console as powerful as they want and still give us the Nintendo experience. The online problem would be solved as well....
The Gamecube was only slightly less powerful(although it had a more efficient processor whereas the XBOX had more brute strength) than the XBOX and much more powerful than the PS2.
But you are right. Having a powerful console does not equal success. Looking back at history, the only time the most powerful console actually won a console war was by Nintendo with the Color TV Game. Ironically, Nintendo is also the only company to win a console war with the least powerful sy...
