It's interesting Sony Says PAL terrorities...360 says UK and across continent europe.
Doesn't PAL include India, HK, Korea, Australia? IS Japan PAL or something else?
If so then they both can be right...
What's clear is it's pretty close either way...and Sony has made up whatever lead 360 had by lanuching a year earlier in Europe or PAL or whatever defintion you'd like to take.
No doubt, but also remember 360 when they announce their #'s include Silver members which is free.
Actually then numbers comes from Famitsu, not vgchartz, so it'll be pretty close.
It's the early estimate by Famitsu, they always give rounded numbers. Media Create gives like the actual numbers which will come on friday.
it sold less than Halo 3, or GTA IV (However that was multi-plat). And likely (I'm not 100%) sold less than Fallout 3 (multi-plat).
it's not from VGChartz, look at it's source, this is a REAL #, they are just translating the japanese site.
Isn't that the point, if you were a small site, just starting up what would you be reviewing, Gears of War 2, or some game no one has heard of?
Now what can be a problem is when these no name sites give these "big" releases a low score, so they can get hits...but then they have to live with their "ethics".
It's pretty simple,
Xbox does have high attach ratios of 8.1 (But that's USA only), that attach ratio goes down (REALLY down) when you include Europe and Japan.
PS3 doesn't have a super high attach ratio in USA, but is more even across all terrorities, plus if you look at multi-plats, in US (360 sells more), in Europe alot of the times (PS3 sells more, even though their install base is slightly less or the same).
And japan until recently it wasn't even ...
Ummm, did you even read the news story. This is from MSoft Q1 report that was released today, it's not "VGChartz" numbers, look at the VIA link which from Gamespot, and the alternative sources.
Agreed, PS3 is matching, and exceeding what 360 did a year ago and that includes the halo launch.
I figure PS3 will get a price cut probably march next year or so in Japan, and fall 09 in Europe/US like 360 has done currently.
I think 360 hold the line at their prices, but offers better value, and we see the first price cut from the wii next year, if demands slip.
I guess it really depends what Msoft defines this generation...If Msoft sells the next Xbox (720?), tomorrow, can the claim victory, as they are out of the current generation.
Let say 2 years from 360 is aging, and they start releasing their next system, but this time they don't kill of their 360 so quickly, and Sony goes on for 3-4, and eventually passes them say a year after msoft releases their next system. Does it mean Sony won between them, lost...what?
Ummm Kotaku didn't pick these, they are just reporting it.
As well so does Gamespot Preview:
"The teaser ended with a reminder that Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be coming only to the PlayStation 3."
http://www.gamespot.com/ps3...
So what trailer is this guy watching?
According to IGN, it does says ONLY on PS3.
http://ps3.ign.com/articles...
"Final Fantasy Versus XIII
The last trailer shown featured maybe Square Enix's best CG work, yet. It began by explaining this is a "fantasy based on reality." Cut to lots of talky talky between four friends with Japanese dude haircuts and a blonde woman. The four pals jump in a car and drive across a ...
Umm you can say that about Msoft as well..
How many of their games are truly exclusive? Basically their first party and a few 3rd party's? Like Gears, Ninja Gaiden, Halo etc.
PS3 games that are exclusive come from their first party or 2nd party, that's how it is this generation...Games cost too much to make this gen to make them exclusive unless heavy financial backing.
Nice Article, I'm surprised with how alot of people took the sort of stance I made. Most people aftering seeing almost 99% poor to crap video game to movie adaptations, wouldn't want anymore. Just for the sake it gives videogames a bad name. I just think people view videogame as any easy score, it has it dedicated fanbase, so if a director/writer puts a few things that appease the fans, the fanbase will come.
Rather than writing a good great script, cast it properly, just like ...
That's a possible crutch to any game though, first person shooters, how much fun is it, going from point A to Point B just shooting at stuff, or in a game platforming. That's why game devs try to add variety or changing pacing, add puzzle elements etc.
I'm sure jumping part of the game is the main game mechanic, but i'm sure there are other things to do, like possible puzzle, not 1 way to solve that puzzle (Ie take multiple paths and routes), etc.
Nah tom cruise is too old to play Drake. I say cast Will smith! ;)
I hope you guys are resident of NZ, cause that's the only way you'll win.
It's on a respected gaming site, and talks about what happened all-related to the UFC-THQ Game.
