Yeah really, should come out with post-apocalyptic skin controller, that way it will always looke normal!
Black rubs to gray/white, white rubs to gray/yellow usually.
Yes and No.
Yes they cost more to produce, there is no general trend as of yet where ANY reputable game company is back-to-back putting out well-received content and somehow just BARELY scraping by where profits are concerned... Look at Rockstar, look at EA (yes EA...), COD games somehow still draw masses and make plenty of money, I'm not sure what Horizon, or TLoU, or GoW pulled in, but I'm sure they were not scraping the bottom of the barrel for pennies when it wa...
I see Sony mostly playing it safe, but they aren’t afraid to push their hardware either, they might just surprise us all with a console that does more than we expect, if only graphically.
Sounds about right. Big factors to affect cost may be discless or not, and obviously Microsoft is always in a better position to eat costs on hardware in order to bolster their consumer base, Sony not so much. Micro could REALLY cut cost on a base unit, gamble on discless, not skimp on hardware AND eat a chunk of cost, put some kind of incredible 249.99 console to market. But at the end of the day, they are going to have to bring the games.
Agree and disagree when I consider it now. I think in many cases one is punished for the evil deeds, as we are in reality, “you killed a civilian, restart” scenario. So we hesitate to TRY anything else, which may in fact be very rewarding in its own way, especially if the context make sense and the game design allows for such options.
If it somehow comes with their free fiber optic network service... sure!
Leaving? They do this too?! Like Netflix... pwhaaa!
Worthless...
If there were less clipping with moving through the folliage and other subtle give-aways, I can easily see how some might mistake the entire sequence as being “fake,” or somehow orchestrated.
Couldn't care less myself, as this is a game about mushroom zombies, which happens to have touching human stories mixed in. I'm here to appreciate the exquisite dispatching of shroombies and any NPCs that get in my way, bring on the one-hit melee! Can't wait to see the multiplayer, I might have to jump back in the remastered version again soon.
Random video, no cherry picking (just picked "no hud"):
TLoU Remastered

Scripted, or not... I myself have had numerous line-blurring moments with this series (and indeed, mostly ND games) where moments work out in just such a way as to border on "scripted" cinematic action sequences to rival anything I've seen in a cuts...
Joel who? It's ladies night...
You know, I was really expecting that last lady to morph into some sort of dragon fetus, but that just goes to show you shouldn’t always expect the most rational thing to occur.
*And to put this into quick context for anyone not reading the below; Comcast bandwidth limit 1TB/mo., the previous Gears of War title would consume OVER 1/10th of our entire available bandwidth just to download. I play PC and console games, the average of which are between 35-70 GB each, not including these massive patches.
AND, it was more a simple remark as opposed to a complaint and even then, one only governed by my own personal circumstances of late.
But dear lord, the last one on PC was over 100 gigs in size...
This would literally not require you to change the way you play in any regard as it would be optional to play with a friend , But I share your core sentiment. Still strange one would have opposition to having a MANDATORY side companion controlled (optionally) by a human rather than AI. I mean... what?
Co-op! Have the kid grown up a bit, can be ai or player controlled. “GODS OF WAR: Odin’s Bane, The Fall of Asgard, Path of the Exiles Write duh pheem tune, sing duh pheem tune, do-doo do dooo.”
The first game/story wasn't necessary... nothing is. Does someone want more to see, hear, experience... YES. End of story. If anyone wants the first "episode" to be the conclusion to that little narrative, make it so! You have your own brain, make THAT your reality should you choose.
For example, I choose to basically "remember" Star Wars Episodes 1-3 completely differently so I can sleep at night without waking up screaming to "whatsa meesa say...
Just make it like God of War, same perspective, lots of powerful substantial hand-to-hand and ranged combat, fluid like the new Spider Man game and you'd have a winner. Same for an Iron Man.
Then just do a Black Widow/Scarlet Witch duo game in the style of the previous God of War games... ;) wink, wink... the ladies...
Yep, guess it’s a double-edged sword really. They have spent time perfecting a formula, but by the time that happens... you’re pretty sick and tired of said-formula!
They need a new way. Keep the things which make the game great and innovate on the rest. Stagnation is unhealthy. Stability, sure, but not stagnation.
