My parents are each from different parts of the world from one another, yet I feel no need to "see" people of every particular color/creed/race/religion/gend er, et cetera, in EVERY SINGLE DEPICTION OF HUMAN BEINGS EVERYWHERE ALL THE TIME!!!
For some blasted reason my mind's logic circuits allow me to see the sense behind authorial decision-making. Trust me, when someone writes/or it comes to light the next great epic tale taking place in actual, or fictional ...
To me, they could have gone with a new story/character altogether no-problem, but regardless it looks likely to be a successful, re-boot/prequel/alternate-vers ion??
I think he is confusing niche titles (of which the Japanese cater to in droves) and "mainstream" mass market appeal games. There is NO question on the relevance of such games, numerous top-tier titles.
Guess he means the Japanese don't make a Call of Duty of some kind.
Exactly... Microsoft's ultimate plans revealed! Imagine the sales of Onesies (Xbox-branded) they will skyrocket!
Xbox Onesies, get em while they're hot!
I'm pretty certain the next Sony console will be portable.
That's okay in most cases, but given Alan Wake's subject matter, it was a perfect candidate for serialization. Not to mention I enjoyed the first and thought they could do much more in a second iteration.
It is a great step forward and I'd LOVE to see variants of it all over. Imagine Elder Scrolls or something with this system. Elder Scrolls games have a measure of "memory" regarding player actions, but it is still fairly rigid and less dynamic when compared to Monolith's system. That goes for most other games as well. It has some quirks that made many situations interesting, i.e. the occasions when multiple NEMESES would show up back to back unexpectedly and I'd find mys...
I don't think anyone honestly wants the X to fail, it just may not be what Microsoft needs to make the brand more successful this gen. Definitely is a move in the right direction for the future of console design, in terms of hardware. Hopefully enough people think the price is worth it.
Well, when you set the bar THAT low... :)
Could have simply written the title thusly:
"The Problem with the Days Gone Demo"
Giving the game some degree of "possession" over the demo for itself is... odd, both in reading and the very idea of it.
I don't "finish" most open-world games theese days (even AAA), but that doesn't keep me from enjoying the $hit out of them, or returning to them again and again after periods of time.
Well it isn't a lie, but misleading in that it may suggest to some that these visuals could not be matched, or exceeded, quite easily in fact, for much less than "multi-thousands of dollars"... I'M NOT DOWNING THE CONSOLE, just pointing that out.
Logical assessment, but I think majority of the concerns on its pricing relates to the success of both the console and the Xbox brand. The worry being that it wont really help it in the way it most needs help, i.e. the games department.
It also becomes baffiling/difficult to justify even buying something for which there is so little alure, again, due to that lack in games that demonstrate its reason for being.
This goes for both and any console manufacturer, unless The minimum resolution for every single one of your games is defaulted at a specified resolution just shut the F up about it .
Call it call it " HD capable " or "UHD" capable or whatever.
Lower-spec consoles should have a very similar experience, just in a resolution and frame-rate they are optimized for. Other effects should not be impacted tremendously really. The Xbox X isn't really much different from the PRO in the areas outside of bumping up resolution, textures, et cetera. The areas where one notices the most difference from a gameplay and game design perspective would things like physics and Nvidia-esque "hair dynamics" technology, et cetera. None of thes...
Is there going to be a high level of dynamism in this game? Destructive environments, or something? Physics? Even at 4K, unless they are pushing some other area like numbers of NPCs on screen, et cetera...
Can we all agree that the hardware isn't too shabby and perhaps the price is even justified, but that Micro just aren't pushing the software enough by any means? I mean, you have to have content!
Sony and Playstation, separate entities I guess now... are fake news. Sony is fake news and Playstation is fake news. Trump and America FTW!
Game looks like weaksauce bigtime, trailer editing is at 111%, leaning on the music track, soundbites, rapid cuts... none of it was enough to hide how bland this game looks and the lackluster animations, visuals, gameplay, et cetera.
Premise was interesting up until the shooting began. I am all for FPS, but if you can't compete with the best, perhaps try something more innovative, i.e. Portalesque, or Alien: Isolation and so on.
Problems with the comparison, a PC has an entire array of other capabilities, so your cost needs to factor-in that additional bang for your buck. Not to mention the reality, however irrelevant, Micro aren't out to make a profit on their hardware, but PC component manufacturers certainly are. That throws it off even more.
End of the day you might end up with something power-equivalent, but the PC will ultimately yield you more options and capability all around.
