Anthem, Destiny/Destiny 2, Battlefront 2 (SP), a host of other single player travesties. It’s like many devs don’t quite understand how to make fun single-player, or story driven experiences anymore, at least many formerly top teams that have, perhaps, been tainted by unhealthy acquisitions...

Seriously, what programmer/designer sits around thinking of ways to design loot boxes and game economics to drain their users... Answer = none, that's the ol' corporate greed rearing it's ugly nerfherdery head.

I came across two deer things laying dead one atop the other sorta inverse to each other and they “clipped” through one another with one head poking out one end and one out the “rear” giving the appearance of a two-headed malformed dear monstrosity. Not a “glitch” but still crazy to see.
I hear ya! I have a similar sentiment, said this is a game I should play when I retire! I'm only 34... ;(
Not to mention the blackhole that would be created from releasing two megaton games in such close proximity to one another.

For the hardware, yes, for what you have to play on it, depends who you ask.

I've often compared aspects of the two, but for me they always existed independently, both with plenty to offer.
Flop I fear...
One could argue... that opinions can and do change yes? Which might suggest "flipflopping," as you put it, is a sign of flexibility in light of a new perspective? Or, simply blind loyalty as you suggested. It's really all about context and the details on a case-by-case basis.
So it would be unwise to group each and every naysayer and each and every "champion of the cause" into any single category of person. I have no vested interest one way or anothe...
Admittedly most games have been lacking in this arena and sadly it is more of a coding ingenuity limitation more than a hardware one. There just is very little initiative on part of devs/publishers to focus on these elements, exceptions being Kojima, Quantic Dream and a few others.
How is it history, it's a game with TONS of absolute historical inaccuracy...
Look up Boudica, it's not so farfetched to omit their presence in a GAME of all things...
Good, now tell EA if their games fail to meet your standards they can shove their crapware down other console’s throats..Sony IS the standard right now along with the devs they own and those they support.
