I would rather they put the extra money for OLED into stronger internals, then release an OLED revision later. Screens are interchangeable during a console gen. Internal horsepower isn’t.

It is a hybrid because besides having a video out, it has different clock speeds to provide a boosted profile when docked, giving higher resolutions. Therefore, not just a handheld.
I love everything about the formats of BOTW and TOTK, except for the dungeons. I miss the traditional style so much.

The latest rumors say that the Pro was scrapped, and the 2 is full steam ahead. The news kind of sent famiboards into a meltdown. It makes sense that the Pro was scrapped, IMO. I always wondered why we only got a “partner showcase” in June, with more game announcements in July. I’ll bet the reveal was supposed to be in June and Nintendo had to scramble to put something together.
New hardware isn’t so easy to develop as that only a few months after sales dip, BAM they can release a new system. Dedicated video game chips take years to develop.
Bayo 4 will undoubtedly be on the more powerful Switch 2. And even if it’s less powerful than PS5/XSX it will certainly be more powerful than the current Switch.
BOTW2 is great and all, but I’m hoping for Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons redone with the new Links Awakening graphics.
All 3 companies seem to be guilty of this. Like the arrogance of Sony with the PS3 coming off of PS2, or Nintendo with the WiiU after the Wii. Which is why, as a Nintendo fan, I’m nervous of their successor after the massive success of the Switch. 🤐
Never tried this series. But with these reviews I think I may give it a shot. I hope it doesn’t rely too much on previous game lore otherwise I’ll be lost.
If no revisions come, then it’s going to be 3rd best selling console for sure. If a “Pro” version drops, all bets are off. But it’s getting a little late for a Pro.
