Same with ps4 for Sony. Same with Xb1 for MS. Not really breaking new ground there.
I'm pretty sure it was a mostly different team doing thief as I didn't recognize anyone in thief interviews from the DX:HR team.
I'm honestly thinking of it... mainly because the games I want are on both systems and if they look and play better on one then why do I need the other? That's why I mostly played 360 last gen.
PS4 isn't tuned for gameplay improvements? That really sounds like MS justification for weaker hardware.
if it disappears then we only have devs like Rocksteady to thank for it. Better specs are better specs.
Parity kills better specs. Ask PC gamers.
People like you and your ridiculous expectations are whats making this a shadowgate.. or downgradegate. You all hitch on these bandwagons of nitpicking and run it into the ground until it's all you all talk about and look for. Forget about the features in the game or if it looks fun... gotta focus on them shadows and compare with a microscope how each trailer looks next to the first.
@Konsoru you could very well be right, I just think Kojima is up to something with this.
My god this game gets put under a microscope like no other. Does it look as good as the e3 2012 trailer when they were showing a rough target based on GUESSING what the next gen hardware would be? Not quite... but it's damn close. Maybe to a lot of you that means we're "settling" or that the dev "duped us" but you need to get off that. The game looks great and most importantly it looks like super addictive gameplay in a believable city. The delay sounds like it did...
What you're implying makes you just as bad on the other end.
it would be shocking if we didn't. david hayter playing solid snake with kiefer playing big boss makes more sense than hayter playing both roles in the same game (despite playing both roles in separate games)
That's not the most absurd thing I've read on N4G today, I'll tell you that. It's definitely a business strategy that'd be worth looking into at the very least.
Well... this is interesting. No point in speculating since we have NO idea but it's interesting nevertheless. I'm sure to some it's nothing major and to others it's a sinking ship. Just... whatever. At this point I'm tired of thinking about it.
Can we move past the initial reveal trailer that was on 'speculation' specs?
"at least they're trying to be different"
as opposed to what? VR? Cause that's SO mainstream now? I... what...
Does MS MAKE anything or just buy up technologies others make?
Agreed! To hell with the whole parity BS.
People used to recommend the 360 over ps3 due to weak ps3 lineup. Did you see how that turned out? I recommend going with who has the best track record (NOT implying that that's sony per se, just that everyone should use history as a guide)
Rocksteady's objective "is to deliver parity across all experiences on every platform that we make".
No... just no. Good lord so basically they'll do what they can on xb1, then copy and paste to PS4 & PC.
When devs say this it makes me wonder if MS threatened to not release it on their system if RS didn't achieve visual parity. Why else would you want your game to only look as good as the lowest common denominator?
I agree with the article about lack of context in the ratings. Still, doesn't seem like many parents even bother with ratings at all these days... if little johnny wants GTA V, he'll get GTA V. Why? Because why endure yelling kicking and screaming from your kid when you can buy him or her a $60 pacifier?
I would rather parents be a little too overly cautious than not care at all about what they're getting their kid(s) to play with.
But I would say...
digital trade in make NO sense... Just complaining gamers wanting to get money back for a game they bought. So entitled. Get gamefly if you don't want to ACTUALLY keep the games you buy.
