the PS2 was also a pain in the rear to develop for... but they dominated the generation and thought they could get away with that again

Microsoft does have some technical advantages they can use... double their ram would be rather inexpensive the bus speed is super important because it could make all the difference
No... a APU with that... drop it down to a 7750... you have ~800GFLOP combined with the ~ 1tflop from CPU
it's not just size... what is the bit width of the bus... is it 128bit bus a 256? It wont be hire that's were the expense really starts getting crazy
Try a 7750... that combined with the APU would put that around 1.8tflops
is it just duel cameras? Kinect detects you in 3D space... this looks like it's using two cameras
Playing videos and playing the games on the console sitting in front of you is two different things... I think that's what Major Nelson meant, but it wasn't a snide remark by any means... he owns a PS3 and he'll probably get a PS4 on launch day.
jmc8888 has a point... Sony specifically has a history of lies to make their system seem more magnificent then technically possible. All the manufacturers to it to some extent, but Sony has it down to an art form. I'll take anything that looks to good from either party with a grain of salt.

What is wrong with some of you? Who wants to see competition removed from the gaming industry? Some of these comments hoping the MS some how fall out of the console race are just mind blowing. It is because of Microsoft that you have PSN and it's because of Sony that Microsoft will have BR disk... competition breeds better experiences for gamers.

Xbox Live allows you to mute universally individuals from all games... also rating them poorly will have the system attempt to keep you from joining their games, but wont make it impossible... wish there was an avoid at all cost option for the truly disturbing.
I agree that it's much to short... assuming the dimensions haven't changed of the d-pad that's a tiny ass touch pad that my thumb will cover almost completely
I think the camera's will probably come separate maybe like the Kinect(it has mutipul cameras)... sit below or on top of your TV... or maybe on each side if they are separate... just speculating of course
The difference isn't necessarily the skill of first party studio, but the fact that Xbox Live takes up 10 percent of CPU cycles as well as a chunk of RAM. This will also be the case for the PS4 and next Xbox. You'll never see anyone "max out" the console because it simply wont be allowed.
