I'm a night owl as well. By the time I've had dinner and the wife's watched the soaps it's nigh on 10pm. I probably get around 2 hours or so per night, longer at weekends. It can be a struggle to finish games that I've bought, and I try and balance multiplayer sessions of MW2 with finishing single player games.
Sad to see them struggling, but hopefully they'll make some cash from their downloadable game and finish what they started. Good to see something positive come from the new download trend.
So many classic games have been produced in this little country. Really sad to see some of the developers going under and struggling. Tax breaks would help them out, but due to our mountain of debt I can't see it happening anytime soon. Also sad to see our culture being erroded from gaming, to appeal to the American market. Although the cost of making a game these days means they need to appeal to the Americans more than ever.
What a guy! I hope he gives that Vaz tube what for in Parliament!
This looks pretty good for a Wiiware game. It will be interesting to see how big a game it is with the 40mb limit.
Sounds good, bring it on, cheesy acting and all!
Nintendo need to get some top quality real games out to consumers, or watch them migrate to the newly motion controlled HD consoles later in the year. We may see a Wii HD and DS2 sooner than expected...
I like the look of this game, and it looks like it's bringing something new to the table, which is always welcome. Will be interesting to see how the console versions measure up to the PC edition.
We definitely need some more celebrity types in the industry. Miyamoto is probably the most high profile, and listening to him talk about the development of a game is really interesting.
Oh no! Looks like we're going to be flooded by cheap mini game collections and Wii Fit clones! The problem the Wii had was getting 'proper' games made for it. We're still waiting for a proper FPS, which is what I envisaged when it was first announced, oh and a kick ass Star Wars lightsabre game! As long as developers don't take the easy option...
Good insight into the German games industry. Quite amazing the cultural differences from other countries developers.
I think some more humour is required in games journalism. Games are supposed to be fun after all! I also think 'Official' mags are, for the most part, a waste of time, as there is the obvious bias towards console exclusives.
I think Sony have a good selection of movies on PSN, but the price is too much. I subscribe to Tesco DVD Rental and get films and games for about £10 a month! On PSN one film to rent in HD is nearly £5! Vidzone is great and more services like it are more than welcome.
It's probably easier to create a game using villains, as smashing things up and killing people is a lot more fun than rescuing a wee girls balloon! I think variety and freedom is the key. Arkham Asylum worked well in it's limited environment, but Superman has the power to fly wherever he wants, which makes it more difficult as the game world has to be massive. They should use the template from GTA San Andreas, and have a central city of Metropolis along with other locales like his Fortress of...
I hope all this ramped up action doesn't 'dumb down' the RPG side of things. I really wish RPG's gave you the ability to choose how in-depth you could go into customising your character, so if you're new to the genre you could leave character building to the computer. It might encourage newcomers to the genre, and it would also keep the hardcore fans happy as well. Win win situation.
MMO in a post apocalyptical world sounds superb. A welcome change from sword and sorcery.
Enjoyable interview. Sounds like a great guy. I just wish I could play Mass Effect on my PS3!
I think services like OnLive will eventually take over from consoles. The only setback being the poor broadband that the UK has to suffer compared to the rest of the world. Once this is overcome then I reckon consoles will have had their day. This type of system would destroy piracy once and for all, as no software is being downloaded to pirate. I'm sure the big boys realise this and will be desperate to get on the bandwagon. Also manufacturers wouldn't have to take a loss on consoles as they...
Really looking forward to playing this game. I grew up playing Lucasarts adventure games, and this looks like the next logical evolution of the genre. At long last a game for adults that doesn't involve shooting as the main gameplay mechanic. I really hope Sony markets it well and people buy it, as I'm getting a bit jaded playing FPS after FPS.
My God Keith Vaz is Penfold!! Great article, lots of great suggestions, Ant & Dec's sounds like sweet revenge for all those annoying Wii ads.
