I dont like survival games in general as they tend to disrespect the players time some times, but I ended up having lots of fun with Subnautica and Long Dark even on switch where the ports were inferior versions.
So I am now more open in trying games in that genre
yes I agree on the power level of Steam Deck when attempting to play demanding games.
I bought steam deck back in 2022 to play all games from Xbox/Sony side as well as more demanding games to complement Switch OLED.
However it soon became evident that many current gen games can not be adequately played on it (Alan Wake 2, Baldurs Gate 3, Starfield, Calisto Protocol to name but a few).
Therefore I am in a position where I need a more po...
Bloober is on fire lately. My favorite announcement from the Showcase
The Directive 2009/24/EC – Legal Protection of Computer Programs specifically protects the source code and object code of a computer program, as they are regarded as the intellectual creation of the program's author. The ECJ AS I understand it, reaffirmed that this protection applies to the program as written and not to modifications that occur during runtime or involve manipulation of variables in the working memory of a device.
In other words, they distinguished betw...
@Profchaos: Yes you are correct that they were never under obligation. But that does not mean that features and benefits arent being removed by companies as the generations proceed while other things such as game prices, console prices and online services fees are increase.
Which was my point.
@pwnmaster3000:Gamepass trial for 1$ has been offered long before Xbox Series X/S release in November 2020.

scummy practices as always. I feel like each generation gaming companies become more greedy by testing the waters with numerous greedy practices on numerous fronts (price hikes, incomplete games to sell DLC just few months later, micro transactions, lazy remasters, removal of perks and benefits etc)
They should really try to make a good third person single player action/adventure game with Deathstroke as main character.
Dream finally came true! Will never forget the jumpscare the original game gave me back in the day.
I was hiding in a locker from a synthetic when I received a phone call that lasted over 45 minutes. When i put the phone down, i realised that I hadnt paused the game and I have forgotten how I ended up there. The moment I opened the locker door the synthetic's glowing eyes appeared in front of me and I ended up in toiletsville
They should have spared the time and resources and asked N4G instead :-)
@Foxrot: I dont think that they are pretty terrible as you say. Their game ratings also do not suggest this. Many find their games lacking because they venture too much into walking simulation territory but they are far from terrible and I believe that you ere exaggerating.
The main issue here is that such a high profile horror game was given to a Team that does not have the best track record in horror gaming and that is why many people where concerned.
haha yes, you are right. I always mistype this as I confuse this with the nintendo character :-)
I liked all of Blooper games thus far being a horror fun and specifically those in psychological horror/walking simulation type of horror and I expected them to deliver a solid game.
Hopefully judging by the reviews, they seem to have nailed it, especially the atmosphere which is key for these type of games.
Cant wait to finish my huge backlog of horror games to experience it!
Well the main difference here is that Star Citizen is a crowd funded project where people expect a product for their funding, whereas Ubisoft is a corporation that invests its own funds. The risk in Star Citizen is borne by the people who invest whereas in Ubisof's case the risk is borne by investors.
Over and above this ludicrous funding, the game received, they have been selling spaceship bundles for 27.000$ since 2018

Because 700$ millions in funding and over 10 years of development are not enough to ensure no crunch time for developers.
Sounds plausible s/
I was talking about their general direction in gaming which is characterized by greediness.
Nintendo is also a culprit since it has given us basic remasters released 11 years |(Luigis Mansion) for 60$, or even remakes with half the framerate of the original for higher price (Paper Mario 1000 year door), no price cuts on game console, half decent value online service with phone app for communications, Super Mario 3D All-Stars limited physical release, to name but a few.
<...
yeah good luck with that..
Just let us play games undistracted. These gaming companies (MS, Nintendo, Sony) are getting too greedy for their own good.
What's next? Forced add view in order to boot up start screen? Domino's pizza stands as save points at GT6? Windows ads at Gears of War 6 computer screen?
@Hofstaderman ok i will bite. Who's that in your opinion?
@Jin_Sakai amazing idea! lets make Sony the sole player in high end gaming video game industry! I am pretty sure that a company like Sony who has never taken advantage of consumers, will graciously accept the monopoly role by providing players with good deals, customer friendly policies and low prices /s
Oh wait..
Cant wait for mods like
“Iodine Pills Booster” Mod – Health gets an instant boost every time you pop an iodine pill, complete with the character's witty comments like, “Nothing says wellness like a radioactive-free thyroid!”
“3.5 Roentgen: Not Great, Not Terrible” Crisis Mod – An immersive HUD overlay gives you constant updates on the radiation levels around you with the classic line “Not great, not terrible,” and the Geiger counter sounds never quite...
