Never thought I would enjoy these games so much
One of the best Nintendo first party developers who can squeeze most out of Nintendo platforms.
It si quite a feat that they managed to improve the graphics on Xenoblade Chronicles 3 in comparison to 2 as Digital Foundry pointed out in their tech review.
At this rate the whole console with all the details will leak and Nintendo will be like "what is this switch 2 you keep talking about..?"
Mafia was amazing looking and had a great story. Played flawlessly at 30fps as well without dips 99% of the time.
The same is true for Jedi Fallen Order
Sony games as also on sale. Picked up Rachet and Clank, cant wait to try it!

Too many boomer shooters on the list. Dont get me wrong, I played Dusk (on switch though, run perfectly), Ion Fury and Prodeus, but I dont think that these are the best on Steam Deck.
I would add (out of those I have played at least)
Half Life Black Mesa (superb game worth your time)
Fear Games (not extraction though)
Singularity
Darkness within:dark lineage (aging graphics however with eerie atmosphere and great story)
that is disappointing, I really wanted to try this. But then again some games that I can not run on Steam Deck, others run them flawlessly or at an acceptable performance.
Puppeteer was simply amazing. The lighting, the animation, the shadows.. what an experience
Literally just finished it on Switch (thanks to suspend point feature of course) and it is a great game by Gameboy standards! It really looks like the SNES version the trilogy of which is available on Switch online as well.
But I 100% agree with you on Donkey Kong 64- that would be perfect but I suspect that they hold on to this as a major announcement for another time given that it is a much requested title

I really hope that the new consoles will not focus on 8k graphics. I mean its impressive that a mid gen console runs such a demanding game on 8k but still uncessary.
First of all the adoption of 8k tvs is not great yet and the extra resolution reaches diminishing returns territory whereas other graphics aspects (character AI physics, great distance views, real time weather effects, path tracing etc) would definitely add more to the games.

I have to agree on this one. It was a forgettable short experience with a generic story that did not appeal to me.
The setting was also a bit weird this time in comparison to his other games.
That rampant spreading spree since 2017 was bound to end in a bad way at some point. They overextended unfortunately

@InUrFoxHole If you read my reply carefully, you will see the point I am making. If there is a console that can play both PS5 and Xbox games and another one that can only play xbox games, which one will you buy?
Plenty of reasons yet you neglected to mention a single one. By my point of view, who buys consoles for their exclusives, I do not see the value of getting an xbox now when (presumably) most games will be available on other platforms that I already own.
I will say the same if and when Sony announces that all its games are coming to PC (in that case, PC will have me covered) or Nintendo in the future (maybe never but the market is changing right now).

This really troubles me, given that Unreal Engine 5 games are not that performant this gen.
Perhaps the next iteration/update of Unreal Engine 5 will be much better however this does not negate the fact that most games look a bit alike using the same engine and tools.
CD Projekt Red, 343 and EA have shifted to Unreal Engine 5 which is a shame because RedEngine and Frostbite were solid game engines.
At least Capcom still uses RE Engine, ...
