This is the first time the Playstation’s biggest games are releasing cross-gen in year 2 of the console cycle.
First time ever.
And it’s ridiculous.

There have been more PS5’s sold than PS1,2,3 & 4 based on the length of time each was on the market. (14 months)
PS5 is the fastest selling PS of all time.
PS2,3 & 4 had much more proper fully next-gen exclusive games than PS5 after one year.
It is a shame that we are in year 2 of next-gen and my PS5 is still just a PS4 Pro+. With the next big next-gen exclusive still a whole year away.
This is the new “Nickle and Dime” Sony. I hope they get out of this.

I love Sony/ Playstation to death but early signs show that Jim Ryan is a bozo. I hope he does right by the Playstation legacy but I don’t have high hopes.
Correct! Your last statement is so true. The great exclusive run we had from 2013-2020 was a result of Sony’s struggles in 2006-2013 when they lost alot of 3rd party exclusive franchises like GTA, FF and Tekken.

I could never understand the sentiments on here. So a movie can be good… a game can be good… but make an interactive movie with choices? It automatically becomes terrible “QTE” trash.

If you don’t like it fine but a developer should be able to choose the level of interactivity they want in their story. Whether open world, Linear, interactive movie or a pure film.

It’s about to be a killer gen. Never been cheaper to own all three consoles and enjoy exclusives.
I think the Series S would hold back games as well. But let’s not pretend Sony is innocent for this cross gen nonsense.

When I played it this year I was completely and utterly blown away. 10/10 from me and one of the best games I’ve ever played in my life.
The open-ended story/mission/game design is a very innovative and a leap forward for gaming.
