I'm not sure about impatient toddlers but I can definitely point out a bunch of nonsense that everybody already knows. Most PlayStation fans are fully aware that they've got studios working on something. The point of the Showcase is to show what we can expect from those studios and that's not what we got. That's not impatience considering it's been two years since the last showcase. Your misrepresenting the viewpoints on this presentation
Maybe one new single player game. You know that thing that Sony is most known for. Hell diverse was nice but that's a multiplayer game. Spider-Man 2 we already knew about but it was nice to see some gameplay. The cinematic they started with is another multiplayer game and looks like other garbage by the tone

That's true if you don't care about the first party and you don't care about those things then this was a perfectly fine show. However most people tune into the showcases to see what PlayStation studios have in store for you. In that regard it's been very lacking. They dont need to. The only time devs and others stay quiet is when theres exclusivity. Sony went first and therefore many of the 3rd party will be shown first by their showcase. Maybe that was their strategy. I dont like it at all.

The show was garbage by showcase standards.
Just got mine 2 weeks ago. I do think that it's the better handheld. Specifically because at lower power consumption it performs better than the ally. The whole point for me of purchasing a handheld is to play indies and smaller titles. Also retro games.
It makes no difference to me if the deck can run the latest triple A titles because I don't want to play those titles on a handheld ..that's what my tv and gaming laptop are for.

Besides Spider-Man 2 and the very likely last of Us multiplayer I'm a perfectly clean slate on this. I want to be surprised and don't really care what they show as long as they show new and exciting stuff.
Except you're entirely wrong. Look at pricing again. Unless you're talking about Brazil specific pricing. In the USA ps plus extra is competing with the basic gamepass. And ps plus premium is still cheaper than the gamepass ultimate.

And today DRM is pushed through gamepass, all digital is pushed as well. They only thing they're missing is pushing a required gimmick.
When a developer says that they approach a platform holder that's kind of telling. You don't need to approach the platform holder if you're not looking for a deal. Do you think that developers approach valve to see if they can place their game on steam. They don't actually approach valve asked to put their game on steam. The real backlash was the all digital aspect. I guess many dont remember that part. Thats why it failed so hard.
However, Microsoft didnt give up...they later released the xbox one s which was an all digital console. Nobody batted an eye because a physical version existed.
And yet again for current gen but in an even worse way they went ahead and released an all digital alongside a phsyical...but as they said they hope and plan on the digital only to sell the most....

One nice surprise would have been good enough for me. But they instead showing multiplayer and nothing we didn't really already know about. It's great to show Indies and to show some of the ones that we already know about but no surprises other than perhaps hell divers. That's not what I considered a good showcase.
