for HD-DVD. They lost a buttload doing this. What other company will want to make a HD-DVD player for such a loss? The answer is no one. Toshiba will continue to be the only company that makes these players and will be the only company to continue to lose money on them.

I mean $99 + 5 free movies? I think most reasonable people will see this as desperate. I mean after this what other move could they make if it doesn't work? Ink a deal with Mcdonald's to give a player away with every happy meal? They have no more cards to play.

But 130k copies of the "true successor" to Mario 64 is pathetic. Especially when Mario Party 8 sold about 500k copies its first week.
The ps3 hasn't dropped $200 in price. They have dropped $100. They started out the year at $499 and $599. They are now $399 and $499 a 15% to 20% drop in price. And most people will tell you that the 40gb and 80gb models are inferior to the 20gb and 60gb models. They are definitely cheaper to make at the very least. Now this Toshiba player started out the year at $399 (I believe). It is now down to $99 a 75% drop. That is why they look desperate.
Sony said they had ample supply that would last at least 2-3 months. I love how little kids rewrite history to suit their needs.
Gamespot is not a collection of personal blogs. It is part of a publicly traded company and their reviewers are employees of that company. They should have strict guidelines about how to review games and reach a consensus among their staff before putting out a review score. That score should represent the company's view. They should try to be as close to 1 mind as possible.
When Tools of Destruction scores the same as a Naruto game at Garbagespot something is definitely wrong.
It averaged a 90% at metacritic. Thats a flop now? If you are talking about sales the game officially launched today so how can it already be a flop?

At least in the first pic. Just look at the water near the boat. You can see the muddy water next to the pier in the bottom image. The top one just looks like regular water. There is also a lot of extra details in the trees and boat on the bottom one as well. The next two images aren't very detailed so its much harder to tell.
Edit: If that really is the case then I stand corrected. But honestly there must be something wrong with the 1080p projector if it can't even mat...
1.Blu-ray discs don't scratch so I can just leave it out of the case when I feel lazy. Drop it by accident and it scrapes against something? Oh well no worries.

Go to the Gamespot xbox 360 forum and there are over 5k posts. Most are red ring issues but there are plenty of ones that are not.
Its amazing how well that thing sells in its 7th year.
They need multiple reviewers per game if their staff is not intelligent enough to eliminate bias from their reviews. And I don't necessarily mean console bias but bias against certain genres as well.
Edit: Wow GS got the score right on God of War 2. Even a broken clock is right twice a day dufus. BTW I didn't say all their scores were wrong. Its the lack of consistency that I have a problem with.
If true that is really bad.
