This whole thing is tiresome. What happened to the days when people looked at graphics and said "oooo Ahhhh"? or "Damn that game looks like it's going to be fun" Now every single facet of the hardware is dissected and scrutinized to the nth degree resulting in constant flamewars. I just want my systems to come out so I can kick back and enjoy what's coming regardless of the resolution or FPS.
I've yet to see any real good or practical use of "Second Screen" in any way EXCEPT for Madden when you're playing with a friend in the same room on the same screen. It's too distracting. For the Walking Dead, you miss the show, for games, you get killed. Until they (Developers) really show us some well thought out practical uses for it, I'll pass because I see nothing worthy yet.

The whole lead-up to this to this new generation of consoles, feels so odd. There's too many "Insider" reports coming out with allegedly negative details. It feels like there's some form of witch hunt going on here.

I've played Battlefield 4 and yes it's quite beautiful to behold but that's not to say that AC4 looks bad by any stretch of the imagination. It's got the prettiest environments of the series. I wouldn't call out the graphics engine until whatever the next installment of the series is on the next gen platforms if it looks the same.
What are you smoking? The graphics look sharp the game itself is extremely vast. Easily the biggest game in the series yet. My early impressions after 5 hours of play would lead me to giving it 9/10.
It is a very very good game so far. My time has been limited to just 2 hours on Single Player ( I never touch multiplayer until I finish campaign) and it's a white knuckle trip. Intense action from start to finish.
Should be interesting to see for sure. While I wait to see the results, I'll be playing the current generation's version tonight.

A 1 week head-start isn't going to do much in the way of giving an advantage to anyone. Early adopters are going to get either system on the first day (myself included for both systems) and others are going to play the wait and see. Xbox or PS people are going to get their Xbox or PS. The biggest thing in Sony's favor is the $100 price difference. That's it.
A few months and it's a different story all together.
I see a time in the future...not sure how far but within the next 2yrs I would say where they offer you the choice of buying physical media or going digital at a reduced price with a storefront where you can sell the digital license (much like trading in)for those purchases when you no longer want to play them. But also, it's going to usher in the family sharing that everyone decided they wanted after it was removed.
I agree with you. It may have been very costly to MS and they would have lost money on each console sold, but I think had they eaten that cost as Sony did HDDVD might have won the war. The cheapest bluray machine at the time was about $700 here and that was part of their (sony's)marketing strategy.
It is exclusive for now anyway...and Knack looks fun, no question about it but I can't see how it's going to have a 4 month staying power for anyone really. FOr me it looks more like a rent it somewhere, run through it and that's it.
