That gen was a lot of fun with console war stuff, YouTube was filled with loads of cringe and hilarious characters, the close horse race between PS3 and 360, with the Wii being a success made for a very even playing field for the most part. I was a teen back then as well, fun times haha.
It's kinda crappy these days, console warring is mostly twitter rage bait with crying and skull emojis, spreading misinformation and lies, it's just not the same lol.
Yet most articles in the last year were spammed to hell by obscures relentless alt accounts.
The Xbox fanboys here have always been the most cult like and lie and spread misinformation all the the time, they remind me of a certain political affiliation actually...
Saying all that I still wish you all and everyone else well, at the end of the day all the console war stuff on here over the years is just that, it's inconsequential to our lives and shoul...
Really the end of an era, been around here on and off for years, but more and more it felt like the site was held together with tape, and I will find myself visiting less and less, but I'll still be sad to see N4G as we know it go.
Also a certain user is now gonna have to find another place for his tribalism lmao.
The screenshot from the article is from an AI chat bot, there are plenty of screenshots floating around from actual human chat reps stating the opposite.
Very impressive and fully deserved, my joint favourite game this gen probably.
It's all nothing burger corpo speak, I see the same slop every quarter at my job lol.
Wonder how much money was lost on perfect dark, hellbalde 2, 300 million lost revenue
by putting cod on gamepass. The recent Jason schrier news that Xbox has cancelled dozens of projects, spent 70 billion just to see Xbox sales further collapse and gamepass see little growth.
The fact is this has been PlayStation's most profitable generation and they are making loads of money and selling plenty of consoles and games. While MS won't give you any sales figure...
And you'll now go back to again thinking exclusives suddenly matter, that multiplatform is no longer the future, or that revenue from multiplatforms doesn't matter, like all you flop flopping xbox grifters lol.
The whole post just sounds like the previous phil corpo slop talk to me, whole thing reads like a nothing burger lol.
I think it's too late, xbox sales were diving even before ABK, they got even worse since then even long before the full multiplatform push. I'd be surprised if they even went back to timed exclusivity at this point, Helix is basically a PC and is going to be expensive, they already struggle to sell cheaper xbox consoles, it will be low volume and they'll have a very small 'console' base to sell to, which has already been conditioned to just play via gamepass anyway.
Such a BS law is this honestly, very poorly thought out and far too broadly applied.
So it's to 'protect children' from harmful content in messages, yet they can continue to play multiplayer regardless, where they will hear worse, they can even hear worse stuff in the street and school playground FFS lol
Ah, so Jez is super credible, but you cried about Jason and Nate being unreliable when it came to reporting Sony pulling back from PC, when both are way more credible than Jez, make it make sense lol.
Don't see it happening really, maybe timed exclusivity for some stuff?. With the next 'Xbox' basically just being a PC running windows titles, which will expensive and low volume, there's barely any console base to sell exclusives to. Plus weren't all the fanboys saying exclusives are terrible, outdated, and a thing of the past? Flop flopping again lol.
Also Jez isn't always exactly the most reliable source and flip flops all the time, he's also ...
It's more the overall mistakes of trying to put big releases with large budgets through a subscription that hasn't taken off like MS thought it would.
Before it was too cheap and not sustainable, now it's too expensive and not sustainable to gain enough subs in fact people crashed the site to unsub after the hikes. This made especially worse the dwindling console sales the last few years as well.
As Butcher would say it's "******* dia...
This is dreadful, but I felt it was inevitable with AI slop sucking up so many components, trumps stupid tariffs and his more recent nonsense in the middle east impacting energy prices heavily.
Companies just aren't willing to subsidise hardware anywhere near as much this gen, and it's sad for the health of the industry overall, it's my main hobby and it's always sad to see this happen, I want to see the industry thriving, not get stifled by stupid politics ...
Was he? It became slightly better after he took over, but it turned in to a gen of just halo gears and forza. And he tried to monopolise massive parts of the industry with ridiculous acquisitions that ironically lead to the opposite, a near complete collapse of xbox console sales, and putting their tentpole IPs everywhere, all but abandoning xbox consoles going forward for a PC disguised like one.
Typical windowscentral xbox glazing.
My prediction, an expensive, low volume PC with an xbox sticker on it.
@obscure
I must have missed the part where Sony owned Kojima Productions and the Death Stranding IP, news flash, they don't, which is not what the article is about lol
@software
All MS did the last few years is buy a bunch of other peoples IPs and release all their tentpole games on playstation and see their console sales collapse, high five indeed.
