PS3 comes with the lot out of the box and well if you want wifi gonna cost ya with 360 , if ya want the bigger HD oh boy is that going to cost ya.
A real heater has thermostat control so at least you can control how hot it gets.
Been through 4 xbox 360's myself and thus far my first ps3 is still running like a dream and has gone 10 hours or more straight in a heated room and barely gets warm just shows the more effort and eye to detail Sony put into there designs...

I also work for a multi national and the recession may have some part in it but my own opinion of Microsoft is that it gives them a convenient scape goat to use.
If times were good and this was announced with the issues there xbox division has had since it 's creation then I believe there hurting and hurting bad and if I was a shareholder loosing money on this division of Microsoft I be pulling the pin or taking a cheaper alternative than investing mega dol...
Wow the almighty Microsoft used the R word or maybe just proves there hurting by the 360 issues and shareholders have put the brakes on there xbox division.
So a slim line version with Natal may be a compromise with shareholders and directors.
Got to love the Global Recession we can blame everything on it these days.
Sounds like the shareholders have put the leash back on the xbox division after losing billions from the original xbox through the RROD fiasco I dare say microsoft don't want to invest to much this time round as it may be possible quiet exit from the console biz.
Money talks and shareholders have a say in how the money works... the downside to going public.
@1.5 totally agree and if I were a shareholder with these results I be voting against another one being built and shut the xbox division down as I would have lost enough already from the hip pocket.
Maybe there going green and recycling any salvagble parts and building a WII knockoff. ;)
Sony is doing fine and like any console maker they wont shoot themselves in the foot and announce a price drop months in advanced.
Wii being selling like hotcakes at pretty much the same price since launch and PS3 already had one price cut and its due mainly to production costs being lower and well the all reliable xbox360 had no fricken choice as who would be stupid enough to hand over the cash at there premium price point when all the crap started hitting the fan and + how mu...

If I'm a Sony droid or Fanboy then I'm a damn proud one as in the same length of time which is 1 year of owning a PS3 I had 4 dud 360's crap out on me ... geeze i prefer quality over quantity and if that = Fanboy then I'm flying the flag full mast and proud.

2.1 true supermarket branded products are made by known name brands.. BUT .... having worked in a supermarket and also having a relative working with one of there suppliers I can tell you some of these products are made to order by the supermarkets suppliers and for example the humble meat pie.
did you no when they do tests on actual meat content in a meatpie the home brand or supermarket brand constantly wins independent tests and yet you pay almost double for the known brands...

Well don't no about you but have you tried upscaling dvd by component latley... mmm HDMI FTW in that department.
Also when I get the time ill make a list of studios who have stated there revenue stream has been stronger with PS3 sales... mmm bit hard if it was'nt selling games.

Well last time I looked HDMI cables are the only ones to utilise full HD 1080P.
So xbox was not the first true HD capable console on initial release until it was made HDMI capable.
Regardless of wether games ps3 or 360 utilise this feature the PS3 was from day one the true FULL HD capable console.
And yeah I do buy games and last count I was around 12 in the collection and well I also have a seperate Sony Blu Ray player which came with 3 bonus movi...

I would still have a 360 if it was only a 1 in a blue moon event but it has design flaws left right and center so how many here have had replacements and repairs.
