When coupled with the novels, comics, and the like, the Halo games comprise a massive, richly-developed sci-fi universe, as good as some of the sci-fi novels I've read over the years.
Personally, I'm looking as much forward to the story in Halo 3 as I am the gameplay.
Bubbles for you, sir. Agreed.
As I have said many times, ad nauseum: Enjoy the games you like on the system of your choice. Live and let live.
I've played Lair, and even though it didn't quite turn out as well as expected, I'd still like to have it for my 360.
How it has survived?
Xbox Live
Great game selection, past and future
But survival isn't enough.
If the 360 is going to THRIVE, then MS needs to make sure that the hardware is reliable and that they take full care of any and all defective systems now, and in the future.
Can't say which store, but my Best Buy is on the list.
So I get to sell to a bunch of crazy, foaming-at-the-mouth gamers for an hour, 12:01 to 1:00 AM, then I get to buy my copy, go home, and bask in the glory of Halo.
(Cue angelic choir)
This will be HUGE!
Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait! Can't wait...
My keyboard is shorting out...too much drool.
WOW.
(But will it play well? Let's hope).
Best possible Master Chief tie-in/promo:
Spartan condoms.
I mean, there are already Trojans, so why not Spartans?
The best system (almost) nobody bought. Ahead of its time.
Enter the Matrix sold millions of copies, but does anyone really think it was memorable?
Halo 2's multiplayer definitely lived up to the hype, but the campaign, while solid, was a bit of a letdown. Too many platforming elements, not enough @ss kicking.
And then there's Daikatana...perhaps the most overhyped game ever, and its interminable delays, high cost, and disappointing gameplay make it one of the truly great bombs in the history of gaming. At least E.T. ne...
The competition for the award got PWNED!
Easily one of their best episodes, ranking up there with "Death Camp of Tolerance," "Stupid Spoiled Whore," and "The Biggest Douche in the Universe" (my three favorites).
Almost as funny, with a similar theme: The American Dad episode "Dungeons and Wagons."
Curiously, the GTA numbers don't include the Xbox versions, whose sales were substantial, as well.
All the titles on this list seem to be based on single-platform numbers; else, wouldn't the sales totals for console versions of the Sims be included in the overall amount?
I wouldn't consider this list to be definitive.
Oh, Lord.
First, Paramount/Dreamworks jumps the Blu-Ray ship;
Then, this.
Wow. Can they find yet another way to confuse and alienate consumers concerning high-def DVDs?
This will get ugly before much longer.
What could it be about?
Those are three developers that are generally successful in Japan; could it be an attempt to (finally) break into that market?
New IPs?
Prominent follow-ups or sequels?
Or, what everybody's probably thinking:
FFXIII on the 360?
Maybe...maybe not.
I think that something BIG looms on the horizon, though...just in time for the Halo 3 launch.
NOT coincid...
Amazing that people are willing to flame over a small percentage of difference between two reviews of the same game for two different systems.
If it was 360: 9/10 and PS3: 6/10, then maybe we'd have some reason to question/debate the reasons for the difference.
But jaggies and minor issues? Please.
All fanboys face potential blindness...from logic, reason, and intelligent thought.
That, and they tend to take a "hands-on" approach to personal pleasure...
I am Kermit
I am Yoda
I am GREEN with envy!!!
How lucky can one person be?
Wanted: One time machine, set for 9/25/2007.
Either that, or someone to freeze me until 9/25...but with my luck, I'll wake up in a far future time filled with warring atheist factions...
Not a bad series: Sort of a poor man's Final Fantasy. Could be interesting as a new-gen title.
And, make no mistake: This will be HUGE in Japan.
"Kaz Says: The PS3 Is a Game Machine. Period."
THEN MARKET IT AS ONE.
Stop pushing Blu-Ray, and the Cell, and all the other technical crap that has been marketed for it in the past.
Show average Jane and Joe what it can do as a gaming system.
"Oblivion on steroids."
No, it's more like Barry Bonds on steroids: A pretender to the throne.
I've played it, and while it's not QUITE as bad as the reviewers say, it definitely isn't Oblivion.
Personal rating: 5/10 (average)
...Which is one reason why consumers have been slow to adopt either one.
The other? Most people just adopted standard DVD, and many people do not yet own an HDTV. Asking them to upgrade after just a few years of regular DVD format is a bit much.
LOL.
