More dev time SHOULD mean improvements.
I mean, if a game debuts on the PS3 and is later released for the 360, wouldn't that apply as well?
LOVE the pic. Perfect.
Now, if only that were true...
Very funny...it's kinda like when judges hand out 500-year prison sentences, or when someone faces the death penalty in multiple states.
I'll keep this simple and straightforward:
Wait until after Christmas to pass judgment on console sales, for all the systems.
MS has a great fall lineup--so they'll have the games--but will they have the sales? Will Nintendo? Sony?
We'll see.
I'll be honest...I was one of those individuals who got the French crack of Halo 2 early...and no, I'm not condoning piracy, and yes, I won't do it again.
But I wasn't dumb enough to take it on Live and get myself banned.
This guy got what he deserved.
Definitely answers the often-posed question of, "what does MS have in the pipe beyond this fall's killer lineup?"
Plenty to look forward to.
Those of us who have played both E.T. and Daikatana disagree.
Lair may have issues, but it's NOWHERE near the pathetic level of those two games (and many others)
(BTW, Mrlakadaddy, E.T. was for the Atari, not NES. It almost single-handedly killed the system. Just a heads-up).
I think somewhere down the line we'll see some form of an HD Wii..."Wii Elite," as the case may be, though Nintendo will probably offer 2 models: A standard Wii, and the HD-capable one.
Lesson learned from this gen: Capturing the casual market shouldn't come at the expense of those who want HD in their system.
360's lifetime depends on whether MS wants to support it better than the original Xbox...in a few years, will the 720 (or whatever it will be cal...
The game itself isn't bad, but the real issue is with the controls: Using the Sixaxis with this game is an absolute CHORE. Nothing I did seemed to work. (To paraphrase Jim Lovell, it was like flying with a dead elephant on my back).
I understand there's supposed to be a pretty steep learning curve, but my friend, who's been playing it almost nonstop since buying it over the weekend, has yet to get the hang of it.
Is there a way to create an update that will allow...
Most of their recommendations are pretty obvious: Live membership, a little extra H1 and H2, "sick days," etc.
A couple of suggestions in addition:
Polish up your smack talk: In addition to real players, one will see lots of obnoxious 12-year-olds trying to play. Be sure to have plenty of sharp, crushing retorts for those little snotbags.
Stock up on the "nutritional" necessities: Mountain Dew/Red Bull/Pizza/Chips/whatever is n...
Live wasn't the first console online service, but it has quickly proven to be the standard, and will show the way for years to come. Its appeal goes further than the hardcore gamers, though it has yet to fully be embraced by the casual crowd. (I love it anyway, though).
But the Wii remote has, in some ways, pioneered a new way for people of all ages and genders to play video games. (Which is why I plan on buying one for the family).
Live is a shared experience, b...
Missing:
LocoRoco
Halo (H2 is essentially Halo--updated with more instruments)
Baten Kaitos
BioShock (Brilliant use of reproduced period music)
Tales of Symphonia
Kameo
Honorable mention: Blue Dragon
Don't read too much into this--probably some Sony employee with too much time on his hands.
Wikipedia gets vandalized like this quite frequently--one of the prices they pay for having an open database.
"...but on the other hand, this is Time magazine - exposure like this, whether the details are correct or not, can do nothing but good for the game."
Also good points. Even with the errors, I don't think this will hurt Halo 3--now just 3 freakin' weeks away!!!--but I wish they would have gotten a better grasp on the current nature of gamers and gaming.
Good points.
The average gamer is no longer some isolated 15-year-old w/o a social life.
--The average age of gamers is nearly 30
--20% of all people who play video games (this is PC, as well) are over 50.
--Women now make up a decent chunk of the gaming community (though last I heard, it's only like 10%. But that's more than it used to be)
This article is a prime example of what happens when the mainstream media atte...
Established brand-name versus new one.
Not surprising that Metroid sold better...but have no doubts, both will be top sellers for the holidays. 2 million each by year's end is entirely possible.
Paging Warren Robinett...
So it's an Easter Egg.
But I was REALLY hoping for some Samus, "Hot Coffee-Style."
:)
Pile of charcoal
Lighter fluid
Juicy steaks and burgers
Cold sodas (sorry, I don't drink beer)
All I need is a flame...oh wait, here it comes...
Nannyism on the left
Moral busybodies on the right
This is why I vote Independent.
Also missing from the pic:
Drool
Smeared feces
