In a dump, next to a big pile of laserdiscs, 8-tracks, and Betamax.
:)
Seriously, try e-bay, Craig's List, and pawn shops. One of my friends got all five Harry Potter movies for $30.
Great game. Glad to see it coming to the consoles.
Weekdays: 2-3 hours.
Weekends, when more of my friends are on Live: 4-6 hours each day
If a game REALLY hooks me (Bioshock, Mass Effect), then I will sometimes do 8-10 hours straight.
Hey, if Jimmy can score, why can't I? :)
I want to play with that controller.
Mass Effect ROCKS. Just be wary of the framerate; it's a little spotty at times. But otherwise, it's a first-rate action RPG with a fantastic story.
I own Blue Dragon, but haven't played it yet.
And I'll be picking up Lost Odyssey before long.
And with Fable 2 and Infinite Undiscovery on the horizon, 360 RPG fans have plenty to keep them busy.
As I said in a prior post, Sony's recovery from last year's doldrums has been impressive, and truly makes this a three-horse race. This will force all three companies to be more competitive...better games, price cuts, more features.
Great for gamers and the industry.
Game on!
Memo to MS: If you are going to have a system w/o a hard drive, then said hard-drive should cost a LOT less...I mean, a 20GB for $100?
$29.99 for the 20GB, $79.99 for the 120. That seems fair to me.
I was wondering the same thing. I really don't care--it won't influence my decision on buying the game--but I am curious.
EDIT: Sangheili, thanks. I missed that part while reading the article.
"In the end, what really matters is that both versions run extremely well and at an almost locked framerate. There are certainly differences on paper, but many will find it difficult to notice them in the game..."
I could be wrong, but I think people will be too busy driving, shooting, gambling, and running to notice the resolution or any other minor flaws in any version of the game...I mean, the GTA series has always been far more about the gameplay than the graphics.
Other than the limited edition, there was no need to pre-order GTAIV...retailers (GS included) got tons of copies.
I cannot fathom GS's obsession with presells...personally, if I had been running that store, I would have been more than happy to take the man's money and send him on his happy way.
"I am looking forward to midnight to pick up a copy myself, and I swear to god I better not see some mom there with her 10 year old kid picking it up too."
You will...I am sorry to say, but you will.
Believe me...I've worked in gaming retail for more than five years, and I am amazed at the parents who will buy M-Rated games for their 9-year-old kids. They either don't care, or don't want to be seen as "unhip" for restricting what they buy for thei...
That's EXACTLY what I do. I allow my son to play Lego Star Wars, Viva Pinata, and certain Arcade games on my 360. When he goes to bed, that's when I break out Gears, Bioshock, etc. I've only allowed him to watch one PG-13 movie--Revenge of the Sith--and my wife and I minimize his exposure to other forms of media violence.
Imagine, if every parent did that...
Good points. There are two things that parents, society, and Jack Thompson need to remember:
--Don't want your kids exposed to GTA and other violent games? Don't buy or rent them for your children! Easy enough.
--Worried about violent behavior in American children? How about looking at the root causes--such as bad parenting, abuse, neglect--and addressing THEM, instead of using games, music, movies, the Internet, etc. as a scapegoat.
It's a bit fugly, to be sure, but it beats the heck out of the crappy third-party docks that are available.
To-MAY-to, To-MAH-to.
What happened to just enjoying the game?
1. Terminal virginity. :)
Hopefully, they're prepared for this. If not...I sense another free Arcade game in the near future. :)
Seriously, tho, I have friends who will be royally p*ssed off if Live has downtime over the next few weeks.
Wow...just who I was thinking, too. Fillion's droll persona would be perfectly suited for the lead...and he seems to have a knack for action/adventure roles.
