Grow up. You’re buying a game. Enjoy the game. You are rewarding a good developer. People pay for the product. If MS make money off this it can street the direction of the kinds of games released in future. MS was rightly criticised for not having enough high quality titles last Gen. They seem to want to address that. I have some issues with buying a large publisher, but it is solid business sense from MS’s perspective as stated elsewhere.
What do you have against brutalist architecture and robots?
@alb1899
It is more complex than that though, sometimes a company can facilitate a company’s ambitions, I am sure Ninja Theory can do far more creatively with a triple A budget behind them under Microsoft. Would Returnal have existed without the close relationship with Sony? I doubt it. In contrast Bethesda are a company which held the resources to make something like Starfield prior to MS purchasing them. As gamers we don’t benefit as much. It might be a good business dec...
But unless they are producing something amazing, nobody will care. It will result in a backlash. Make something amazing then your game will stand on its own merits, especially with Sony promotion.
Obsidian are amazing. They will still be so after this. If Sony were making an RPG then I’d be excited by this move. But all we know is someone changed jobs.
Alex Kidd is alright, it was released almost half a decade before Sonic so that is a tough comparison. Super Mario Bros predates it, it’s easily the superior game, but it was also the high watermark for platform games. If you played Alex Kidd early your reference point would be things like Wonder Boy (which I prefer) or Pac-Land.
Alex Kidd was initially designed as a Dragon Ball game. So the mascot readjustment happened later.
I thought they felt graphically bland too, a big aspect of Metroid is the sense of place, like the rainswept planet you arrive in on super Metroid. It’s a shame as the mechanics of the game are really appealing..Something about 2.5d often looks and feels a little off for me, Nintendo have usually managed it better than most like crafted world.
I this. I have them for the GBA still but they’d flourish on Switch and those original boxes are delicate,. The DS ones are obviously more complex to transfer but hopefully the excellent M2 will sort these out one day too.
I actually like the Amiibos for this and wanted to purchase them regardless. It was kind of cool in Mario Mario they’d correspond with different sprites. But this bonus is both unimaginative and greedy.
If there is one important step to starting your own studio it is quitting school. Good luck!
Chicory has received excellent reviews so far. So it’s bit harsh describing it as mediocre.
I quite like FFXV it has its rough spots but it also has many charming moments.
I don’t get the appeal of Diablo it feels like a clicker game to me. But each to their own.
The weirdest part is that 6 should not be a bad mark. It should be above average. Reviewers seem to reserve the lower end of the scale for nearly unplayable games.
They are both decent titles. Regardless of where they fall in regards to the other entries in their respective series. They were the critical high points of the Switch’s existence, there have been some passable titles released but it has been slightly underwhelming since then from Nintendo.
We all know DQ characters are Enix. Whatever the company is called.
I love Nintendo. I enjoy the Mario Golf games, but really want a true triple A Nintendo experience. Metroid, Zelda, Mario or something new. |
Do EA now own Dizzy the Egg?
I want to be optimistic, but I am tired of survival sims, which is what this appears to be. Maybe they’ll bring something fresh.
Rival Schools is Capcom
It’s a shame, Dishonored Is stunning.
