just because the tests were done horribly doesnt mean they will get any less page views though.
why spend time and money actually doing the work when they'll get the same amount of money regardless. media today is horrible
ill answer for him, without retailers, who would sell the hardware? cant digitally sell the hardware. so without drastically changing the industry this wont happen.
retailers dont make much (if any) from the hardware, so how can we expect them to continue to stock it without stocking the lucrative software part.
everyone in the industry, sony, microsoft and nintendo, all want to protect retailers, none of them will try and cut retail out of the loop for fear ...
right now im planning on playing psp games that i missed, but im very interested in some jrpgs
hope to see a few big ones announced soon
@vortis microsoft online model isnt the industry standard like sonys and nintendos were when they released. if anything valves online model is the industry standard and psn is closer to that, microsoft is seems to be the only company thats not following the industry standard for online gaming, but new doesnt mean good, its just new. if a paid online platform becomes the norm then microsoft will have changed the industry, as of now, no one has followed microsoft's online strategy
there are some games on the EU store that arent on the NA store, breath of fire 3 for example. NA wont let it release (or any other similar port btw) unless the port comes with extra content, while the EU will. its kind of dumb, the end user (us) shouldnt have to deal with this stuff, its their job to get the game released here. we shouldnt have to beg them to take our money
the barrier to entry for consoles is high because of what happened in 1983-1985, a time when any developer could self publish their game. the gaming market in NA went from a 3.2 billion dollar market to a 100 million dollar market in one year mostly because of a flood of bad games, which ended up with almost all NA game development companies going out of business.
its also how nintendo became popular, they introduced a console where every game had to be approved and published...
the reason that consoles cant really compete in digital downloads is because of their retail counterpart.
many retailers have stopped stocking physical pc copies of steam enabled games because they were being outpriced.
imagine how that would work for a console, no more retail for consoles? it means no more hardware being sold - it would end console gaming.
physical retailers are the reason consoles online platforms dont have good deals like ...
nintendo isnt bringing the last story over, no one convinced them to bring it over, xseed is bringing it over, not nintendo. nintendo is bringing xenoblade over though, but dont give credit to nintendo for the last story, they're not bringing that over
i dont think sony views it as a problem
i think there are a few problems with this, namely that emulation is tasking. they would need to test each game out and fix them individually, which will end up taking a lot of time to do. it'll most likely be a quick fix for each, but QA will need to be done, which is why i believe they opted for a pay model so individual developers can go through and perform the necessary emulation fixes
all the .hack games... please :)
if they want to make all xbox games available for a windows platform im all for it, i dont really want to buy an xbox for 2 games again
if you have to give credit to something that nintendo has done, its the protection of their IP. theyve been using their IP for years and its still selling well, when most other companies get called out for milking their franchises after the first 3 or so titles nintendo stands tall with the same IP year after year
its the industry standard, sonys not bad for doing it, theyre just a company trying to share their viewpoint. the great thing about wikipedia is that if sony put false things down you can change it.
no reason to make an editorial about it, change it if its wrong. im assuming that everything sony put down was true because it can easily be changed
we actually dont know the extent to the x360 hacks, microsoft isnt telling anyone, it could be worse then the psn hacks, we wont know until microsoft tells us specifics.
at the moment they seem content to just ignore the problem, but theres obviously a problem. theyve already 'fixed' the problem a few times, yet it persists, people are still being hacked. it could be phishing or something that microsoft cant really prevent, but it could also be a hack, we wont know un...
or a year and get it for $20
less than 20% of people finished the black ops campaign, activision already knows where to focus their attention.

games like call of duty would stay full price for the multiplayer, and the single player would probably stay pretty expensive as well.
i would rather sony not try and secure a comparable game, this looks horrid. they should keep doing as theyre doing - sony has much better games than this releasing, microsoft needs to catch up to sony, not the other way around
im gonna have a lot of games to play on my vita :)
this is a japanese event, i doubt that the titles announced will be western centric
