cross platform between tablets & desktops wont be happening anytime soon, at least not in the way youre thinking of it as. to have cross platform you either have to have very strong hardware or static hardware, neither of which are possible for microsoft.

also, buying a wii nintendo is months away from releasing new hardware which will almost positively make the wii stop getting any new software is insane. theres no way im going to buy a wii when wiiu release is so close.

you can play through the first or you can skip the first part of the story and jump right to the second, just like any other game.
if youre playing gears of war 3 you wont know the story of the first two unless you played them first, just like killzone, or any other sequel; if you dont play through the first part then youre probably not going to know much of what happened in the first part.

meh, doesnt really matter, exp doesnt really help much. theres a few awesome skills and then there are skills that help a bit here and there. around halfway through the game i was just picking skills because they sounded cool, with no intention on ever using them.

the playstation (much like the wii) accessories, from a technical standpoint, will definitely be able to be used with the next playstation, from a business standpoint, they'll probably want you to buy new though.
the xbox on the other hand is using some old technology. they use radio to connect wirelessly, which is a problem for long term investments, they're going to need to switch over to bluetooth or something similar.
not to mention that gears was meant to be released about a year ago. theyve had another year of development time paid for by microsoft to hold this over until this year.
if anything, gears should be one of the most optimized games released this generation. ive never heard of a game getting so much optimization time before. a major budget game like this, given a full extra year of development time should be the show all of what the hardware can do.

anyone can sue anyone for anything in the US, companies sue people wrongly all the time. the point is that they go to court to find out who is wrong.
just because you get sued doesnt mean you loose anything, in most cases people counter-sue for their lawyers legal fees and the person who conjured up the lawsuit ends up paying whomever it is that they sued.

with a quad core processor we all knew that the battery life wasnt going to be fantastic. 5 hours is a surprise for me, they must pack a pretty nice battery in these suckers. does anyone have any stats on the battery theyre shipping in it?
when a manual has sections like characters, story, prologue, world, and other cool things that relate to the game i know im going to enjoy the game ... :) the developers didnt have to put that stuff in the game, when they do i know that they believe in their game
ill only care if the advertisements are intrusive. if games have a billboard or something advertising some company im not gonna care, i probably wont even notice, after walking through streets filled with advertisements like 10 hours a day i think im pretty good at ignoring them completely.
if the advertisements stop gameplay every hour for a 30 second advertisement with extremely loud volume ill be pretty annoyed
