I have no complains about the current XMB, except that it could load a bit faster when in-game.
That's it - it's the best Gaming OS interface I've ever used, easy, sleek, fast enough, everything you need is a couple of button presses away... I just wished it loaded my BluRays for me ;)
Because that's even worse than Beyonetta wearing her own hair :|
Won't be getting Guild Wars 2 if I'm reminded of stuff like that, certainly!
Which is odd, because she looks super hot in real life!
This isn't good news. I'm sure ME2 is fantastic, but perfect, and replayable for years to come?
Gaming Journalism whores itself out for click-counts once again.
Can't bite the hand that feeds you, now!
I love when people disagree and don't tell you why.
This rating system needs to stop being anonymous. The quality of my posts doesn't improve because I don't know what's wrong with it!
Wow... a lot of hardcore M&K fans disagreeing it seems... don't like the fact the game aims for you? Perhaps you should stick you FPSs, then?
Low standards, much?
6/10 is "decent", or "better than average", which is great for Zelda with a lick of HD paint.
Of course I'm not saying EDGE actually stick to their own metric, they go insane as soon as they see something shiny just as much as another review site. Hell they gave Halo 3 a perfect 10 for minor improvements, and then give games like Darksiders, Resistance 2 6s for not being original enough :|
"Controls (M & K FTW)"
Yeah Mouse and Keyboard make a big difference in an Role Playing Game that calculates your accuracy based on assigned skill points.
Did you even think about what you were typing??
That's the odd thing:
Techmo managed to make NG:Sigma even though it was a paid for exclusive. But under IP laws, if you change enough of a product to be considered a whole new product, you can sell it on, without breaking the exclusivity clause.
EA and Bioware have gone on record saying there is no Exclusivity deqal with MS, they just happened to develop only for 360 as that was to be released first.
They could easily port to PS3 (since they're both Unr...
Since texture pop is usually finished in a couple of seconds, I really don't know why developers insist on getting you into the game as soon as possible.
The Unreal engine used to (and probably still does) have an option to delay loading until the textures are done, so it's nothing extra they need to code for.
Hell - they could make it an option as part of the game. That way gamers who want to get into it and don't care can, and those who don't want to be pulled out ...
Except the article goes by how much it costs to make each PS3. This includes manufacture cost, and the cost of any previous R&D.
It's a bit unfair to criticise SONY for selling at a loss, if you include the R&D years - how are they meant to sell a product that didn't exist?
There's not a lot of difference. It's using the Unreal Engine, so that could be the result of them taking the screen-shot as the texture is still loading.
Though one review said the 360 version would hold back enemies, compared to the PS3 version, in the final battle. They put it down to keeping performance high, but it could be for a number of other reasons.
Still looks like a fun game, with a great soundtrack (that's if I can get The Rocketeer's theme out of my hea...
He's already renamed the Article to "Nearly 4 years" instead of "After 5 years"... and even that's pushing it by 10 months.
But "Just over 3 years" doesn't have quite the alarmist tone, and it's still less time than the original Xbox was selling for, at a loss.
Or that anybody with a head set on PSN is old enough to afford one.
Valve did the same thing when they just dumped The Orange Box code on EA, who then had to:
- Learn how to code for a new architecture
- Learn how to optimise the game for this new architecture.
It's less of a testament to SEGA's skill in porting and more a lack of skill on Platinum's part.
Why do you give a crap about demos?
Statistically a game will sell less if it has a demo, anyway! So why not man-up and buy one of the special offers?
Unbound Saga is about £4, and worth it if you're fan of the old school brawlers.
How did you swing that?
Weird - could have sworn I've seen it for sale in the UK, must have been an import.
Still waiting on those sackboy plushies, they would have made a great xmas present for my girlfriend... but in your own time Sony.
Higher Resolution Textures
Higher Anti Aliasing
Less Restrictive Mip-Mapping
Though you'll notice almost none of that when running side by side, because it's full of a futuristic environment and clothing (a lot of sleek, flush panels and plastic materials with almost no texture to even render), and they've done a damned good job of it, too.
I wish it was on PS3 ;_;
Actually customising the layout of XMB yourself would be pretty sweet.
Though it does go some way to allow you to group stuff with a Square press - I might be able to get my Obsessive Compulsive side happy just using that.
