You're a person who wants xbox to be successful so whatever you say Sony should do the opposite. If you say they shouldn't undercut then they 100% should undercut as much as they possibly can.
As much as I think Sony is in a strong position that's wrong, the surest path to failure is over confidence. Even if your in the lead in a race you can't stop running.
"The more successful it is selling at a loss, the more money they lose."
No this is wrong, the more customers they have the more money they make in the long run. This isn't selling shoes where the sale is the only profit, this is selling a storefront in which they make money over the next 7-10 years selling games and services at a profit.
It's why stores have sales where they sell things for nothing or even at a loss because they want ...
If Sony wants to slam dunk on Microsoft all they need to do is go low if they price the disk PS4 at $400 and $350 digital they will have a sure fire winner. Even if they take the loss on the consoles sales they can make up the money selling games and services.
Personally I think they should try to get there foot in the door and get the generation off to a strong start. Cerny in his PS5 presentation specifically talked about how they took price into account so I am still o...
No, that's wrong, if this was the case they would have revealed the prices months ago. I guarantee these prices are in negotiation until the final day.
Sony's plan is to let Microsoft talk then counter what they say. They just won the main battle in the war of attrition with Microsoft revealing it's price before Sony who can now look at the competitions offerings and figure out where to price themselves.
And again it benefits them to have their information go last because peoples excitement shifts so fast, it's not bad to have your message be the last one people...
I'm really looking forward to this, it'll probably be the event that I used to decide AMD or Nvidia for my upgrade. I'm not in a super huge rush to upgrade though so i'm sure i'll wait to see Intel's big GPU reveal and wait to see some real world performance of all the cards.
But all in all i'm really looking forward to getting a new GPU after skipping the the last set of cards. Anything I get should end up being a huge upgrade.
If you can qualify for the loan why wouldn't you just buy it on your CC you would generally pay less interest and get points or credit benefits.
And people who can't afford the console in one payment shouldn't be buying consoles especially not for more than the MSRP. It's terrible to see Microsoft trying to fund their console with fees on the backs of people who default. I already feel bad for people who have to deal with creditors and collection agencies ...
That's not how pricing works, for example the most popular PCIe 4 SSD is less than this already and twice as fast. And because Sony is allowing you to buy SSD's from off the shelf there will be competition between brands to bring the price down and you can buy larger or smaller SSD's to fit your budget.
Microsoft is charging more than double the shelf price for the SSD they are using.
So they are charging double the average price, and that's why it's proprietary
I can't wait till someone opens one up and sees what chips are inside. Itm sure it'll be like the proprietary hd for the 360 which was just a cheap laptop hard drive repackaged so they could charge 2-4x as much as the cost to buy the drive off the shelf.
darthv72, they aren't even advertising it as 4k. Maybe it'll do 4k with checkerboard but of course we all know how you xbox fans act whenever you hear that word. Though i guess the way you guys love doubletalk you'll probably proclaim it's the best thing ever.
