Terrible example lol. I want to believe EA is doing the right thing with this game. In fact, unless they are outright lying I can't see how they aren't doing the right thing.

But Titanfall 2 was a REALLY bad example lol. They released a game between the releases of the other two biggest games in the genre (CoD and Battlefield) and did no advertising for it whatsoever. Then it took months and months post launch for even small content updates. Then they ended up buyin...

EA has done some really crappy things. But when have they ever outright lied?

When have they ever said a game would not include things like MT's or Loot Crates, but then added them in anyway? I can't think of a single time. And it would be suicide to do it now after the Battlefront 2 fiasco.

And with all the announcements made, pretty much all bases are covered. No Loot Crates. No MT's other than cosmetic. No pay to win. No splitting player ba...

Yeah lol. Unfortunately you are right.

But with all the announcements we've gotten, the people being negative really have nothing to base it on. EA has pretty much covered all bases with the announcements they made.

Also, no splitting of the community by locking content behind paywalls. I've seen people mentioning the Tides of War service they are implementing a month after launch. Its basically a seasonal period of content that goes away at the end of the season for a new season of content.

But even that is free. If it wasn't then it would be splitting up the community with paywalls. And they have already said that ALL players will always have access to the same game modes. ...

I think it may be time for gamers to give a LITTLE bit of credit to EA. It really looks like they are doing all the right things here. Everyone's concerns are being addressed.

1. No Loot Crates.
2. MT's are cosmetic only.
3. No premium passes.
4. All DLC and post launch maps are free.
5. No splitting up the community.
6. No pay to win tactics.

Hell, even the Tides of War mode I keep seeing people being ...

Me neither. And it's weird because they have released gameplay. There are gameplay videos available on youtube. They were up just hours after the reveal trailer.

So I don't get why they didn't just put some of that in the trailer. Makes no sense to me.

So what. That's their decision. It's still a million times better than tying actual in-game progression to how much money you dump into crates that don't even guarantee you any progression.

Um....it does. Like, a LOT different. If people thought it looked like BF1 then you wouldn't be the only one saying it.

@ Razmiran

To be fair I don't know of a single time that EA outright lied. They might hold back information. But they've never said a game would have no pay to win MT's or loot crates and then stuck them in anyway. They've always been pretty straight forward with their shady tactics lol. Even it meant waiting until a beta to reveal it.

But there's no way they would come out and say no pay to win MT's and Loot Crates and all DLC is ...

It's not pay to win and all microtransactions are cosmetic only. It's in the title.

The things you just mentioned would be pay to win.

2958d ago 6 agree4 disagreeView comment

What are you even talking about? It's not Pay to Win and DLC and maps are free.

How is that forcing us to buy the game multiple times?

2958d ago 0 agree0 disagreeView comment

Well, they said no Pay to Win. All DLC and maps are free. That tells me that the only other way they can do MT's is for cosmetic items.

I am fine with that. If they want to try to make some extra cash while supporting a game with free content updates such as maps, then I'm more than okay with it.

There has to be a level of compromise. Video game prices haven't gone up since the release of Xbox 360. I'm happy with what I heard. I will play ...

Wow! Talk about a coward! You send a rude message to someone then instantly block them so they can't reply? Even though he didn't even really say anything offensive?

You should probably consider whether or not talking to people in message boards is for you, because clearly you can't handle it.

Go ahead and block me now, coward. I said far worse than anything MrVux00 said. And trust me, I won't miss having conversations with an unreasonable...

You don't have to an invent a shady policy to use a shady policy.

Let's face it, EA tried some really horrible things with Battlefront 2. Possibly one of, if not the worst progression systems ever seen completely geared around taking more money from customers.

It was so bad that they had it removed before the game even released due to fan feedback, then released an apology, then spent the next 6 months making a new progression system.

I'm at work and haven't watched yet.

Did it say no MT's or Loot Crates? Because that is what most people are hesitant about, I think. Not their ability to put out a good Battlefield game.

Check out Until Dawn.

So is this along the same lines as Until Dawn? Because I frigging loved that game and would highly recommend it to you.

Did the Sega CD really do that though? I'm not so sure.

The CD just hooked on to the Genesis and you could still play both Genesis and Sega CD games. You couldn't have a CD without a working Genesis. Not only that, but the Sega CD games were so different than the Genesis games that I can't imagine anyone buying a CD and not continue playing their Genesis as well.

I know you aren't the first person to say that. But I just don't see how ...

I don't know why you got a disagree. What you said is really interesting to think about and totally true.

Could you imagine what a powerhouse Nintendo/Sony could have become?

Or, to your other point, would Sony have seen their own potential after partnering with Nintendo and still gone off to create the Playstation?

Who knows?

2960d ago 1 agree0 disagreeView comment

They remember.

But Battlefield hasn't been known for that. I think people are hoping it won't become that.

It's also a bit unfair to assume loot boxes and locked content behind paywalls will be in this game when we know literally nothing about it.

But you better believe that the second they announce loot boxes you will see everyone turn tail and abandon ship as well.

I also like to think that EA is not st...
