Phil Spencer mentioned Phantom Dust was pegged before E3, but now I'm not so sure.
Alright. I think I can squish this one down to one response.
-" 1.) I have seen everyone from Neil druckmann to the saints row guys thanking her for work and how it changed them as a studio. I did hear she was official on the mirrors edge game though, I assumed it wasn't the only one but I don't follow her work honestly."
Well, you suggested she was an adviser, which assumes some kind of role in the company or involved with development....
I feel like I should at least try out NieR before jumping over to this one. In any case, another game I really want to play soon! :D
Oh man...SOMA's ending was something else. One of the year's best.
Thank you. :)
Indeed. Andromeda is a whole different can of worms when considering the crap hurled at that woman beefing up her resume.
Part 2:
-"Bioshock is easily my favorite game and that's why I decided to comment. It's heavily political and to put something like gone home in the same category is a offensive joke in my opinion. Identity politics has no substance and the games that promote it mostly just virtue signal. There is no discussion to be had over tracers sexuality like their is objectivism and collectivism. Who cares? It's not political, it's a sexual preference."
No problem. I knew there was no malice directed at me when you stated that, rather it was just a slip of the tongue. I wasn't a fan of marking it when the whole comment was helpful in clarifying a few things. I'll copy-paste a lot of it in this comment.
-"There is a huge difference between attacking a game like bioshock that is about ayn rand "objectivism" just because it offends you. And then attacking a game because it "objectifies" cer...
@gangsta_red
Sure there's been a bigger push (especially with certain Hollywood reboots). I'm just bothered by the assumptions that carries with it across all media, including Star Wars. Already a newer comment above argues how Kathleen Kennedy's "rad-fem" ideology is simply infiltrating the good 'ole Star Wars we know and love. I mean...where's the proof she pushed that decision for a game like BF II now? And if such rad-fem ideas are just...
In MOST film & games? That's incorrect.
In MOST Star-Wars oriented media, like films and games? Sure, that seems to be the case currently. It's the insinuations + double standards that kind of bother some people responding. For one, none of us have knowledge of what's going on in BF II's campaign development at Motive. Who's to say whether it's "forced" by corporate or the team was simply inspired to make that their female protag. ...
Sure, philosophy is different...which is why I don't touch much on that aspect within this blog.
"If you group identity politics in with real ideologies then you are ignorant."
https://www.google.com/#q=i...
Take your accusations of ignorance to somewhere it may actually apply. Politics as to what I've been discussing above does appear to a...
Oh yes! The strained SW-inspired blog titles continues! >:D
Anyways, I hope everyone enjoyed the 2-part blog. Please feel free to leave your comments and/or questions down below, or in Part 1's comment section if you're so inclined.
Yoko Taro is more of an independent agent than being an official part of Platinum Games. I get what you're saying, but that's an important consideration to remember.
@InTheLab
Well, Star Fox Zero's considered one of the biggest flops of 2016 so that's not a good example. And Quantum Break, whilst still good, doesn't really reach that level of greatness that I'd hoped it would. See how that stacks up to the potential and sheer numbers of middle-market + indie-level stuff here? There's a lot of fantastic potential coming from these titles.
Depends on what you're looking for, I guess. For me, this is going to be a costly month:
-Outlast II
-Yooka-Laylee
-Little Nightmares
-Deformers
-Cities: Skylines (XJuan Edition)
-Voodoo Vince Remastered
-Syberia 3
Feels like the "best month of April" for games I can ever recall.
The Order is in no way universally loved. Not by a long shot.
"That ending left it wide Open for the devs to go wild with a sequel if it gets lit."
That's because that wasn't really any semblance of an ending; more like they decided to roll credits at the end of Act 2.
@Christopher
No, he's been pretty adamant about adoring that game. Not so much in it being an incredibly well-made game in regards to x or y feature, but the experience itself being so crazy and brilliant all at once. I've never seen him come out and say he was just using that review as a joke.
Indeed. That's a criticism I've seen nowhere else (yet) when it comes to game critics.
You realize you're employing obnoxious sarcasm against people who feel cheated, right?
"They now make it compatible on Xbox one but you have to buy it just like the digital remasters on PS4 that added trophies."
Comparing this VV remaster to PS2-to-PS4 titles is a false equivalence. Those PS4 ports, unless stated otherwise by the game's description, you're talking about get the bare minimum treatment to run on this-gen hardware: trophy support & expected aspect ratio update. VV Remastered got...the remaster treatment. For visuals, it...
