I don't think that counts as "really cheap" in his eyes, especially regarding the principle of no physical edition.
I predict Double Fine has a shadow drop in store.
One of the biggest requests for this game. Of course, I'd settle for just a standard physical release, but my god would a solid collector's edition akin to the OG 360 version be awesome. Keep it around the $100 ballpark and I'd buy it in a flash.
100% with you there for Alan Wake II.
-"maps are good with free maps being added."
But how much credit should be owed to maps originally crafted in 09's MW2? Sure, there's *some* fun in reliving most maps with this movement, but isn't criticism warranted for how that looks along with the obvious shortcuts done elsewhere?
Miles Morales was $40/$50 (PS4/PS5) retail though.
And it sucks for Sledgehammer too. I'm willing to bet real money the creative leads' initial talks with Activision/Kotick about this arrangement was more like a $30-$40 expansion that'd be supplemented by GaaS stuff in the storefront. Everything about it feels like content for an "off year," as a means to afford more time for Treyarch's next CoD.
I'll grant you multiplayer is the one aspect that *can* deliver some dopamine rushes, but I still think there has to be a tougher interrogation about this being an expansion masquerading as a sequel. Even the fun with certain competitive modes can't distant themselves from the reality of its wholesale recycling of old maps. Plus, it's not like there aren't cheaper ways to engage with CoD's tight mechanics. Warzone 2.0 & DMZ are free and feel way more mechanically co...
Played it a few months back. Not a stellar mp game at its time, but still genuine & janky fun.
So much of this list seems incredibly safe and expected. What are you talking about? lol
Game companies trying to not fire their employees around Christmas challenge. (Impossible)
You get the industry you financially support.
I'm with you there. But it looks like the Asgard's Wrath series is basically Meta's 1st party.
Has the first one come over yet?
Congrats to anast. Well deserved W imo.
Points for the self-awareness though.
But you didn't initially bring up any ratio of negative vs. positive articles like this one for Days Gone. I was focusing on *IF* any existed back then that treated DG as generously as Forspoken is here. You don't have to go far to see kinder assessments of it after the buggy launch blew over. Hell, even some ppl openly changed their mind on it. For example:

You're doing some historical revisionism here. You can find some complimentary articles of that type with Days Gone close to its release window. Also, I'd argue the reviews for its PC version should count as well.
-"I can only remember one formal warning and temp suspension of Contributor duties I got for accidentally approving an article that did not meet all of the posting guidelines. It was just a mistake of glancing over something too quick."
I mean... the whole point of the warning system is to course-correct for those errors. Even if they're just brief lapses of judgment, you took on the Contributor role so there's some responsibility that comes with it. I...
