The OP did make the list!

The launch was bad, but the console itself is fantastic :)

That's completely false. The claims about Zoe Quinn were that she slept with ONE journalist to get positive coverage. Except the positive coverage doesn't exist. The story was made up by a vindictive ex trying to trash her life over something she didn't do.

Well to be fair, the abuse being aimed at GamerGate isn't anywhere near the same degree as the scale of the abuse being aimed at people that some supporters of GamerGate take issue with. If you're able to provide one credible example of death threats and concentrated harassment experienced by a GamerGate supporter, then by all means do so.

Abuse of anyone - no matter what they believe, or what side they take in this or any other debate - is utterly unacceptable. But t...

The article acknowledges that the abuse isn't one-sided and that moderate supporters of GamersGate have also faced abuse.

It's a little premature to say PS4 has "beaten" Wii U or Xbox One - it hasn't even been out for a year!

If the last generation taught us anything, it's that the success or failure of a console can easily be turned around and won't be written until many years after it came to market.

And Android has a higher market share not because it's necessarily a better OS, but because a higher proportion of mobile handsets use it.

You'd be forgiven for thinking we live in a world where someone isn't allowed to have a different opinion of a game...

It should also be noted that the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of the game don't feature the Nemesis system, which is by far the game's standout feature. If you're going to play it, either play it on PC or wait until you have a current-gen console.

Shadow of Mordor is a decent game, but it's definitely the sort of game that people will bring up in conversation as "you remember that LOTR hack and slash game that was like Batman: Akrkham City? That was pretty good" in 5 year's time, rather than it going down as a classic.

With regards to how well it utilizes the license, that's touched on in the review itself.

Silent Hill 4: The Room (yes, we know it was originally meant to be a different game) toyed with 1st person, and it worked well (time has been a lot kinder on that game than its initial release).

Since then, games like Outlast and Amnesia have shown that a 1st person perspective can actually do wonders for the genre, by removing the barrier of feeling as though there's something separating you from the action.

The big question is: if it's 1st person, ...

That's a very good point.

Another question is how he defines episodic; does he mean dividing the game itself into chapters on the disc with catch-ups (I.E Alone in the Dark), does he mean individual episodes focusing on speficic characters, or does he mean DLC?

Time will tell.

Interestingly, the first-person perspective we've seen so far suggests a single outlook, unless there are introductory cutscenes to establish context.

Gameinformer places "average" at 7/10 (check their scale if you don't believe us). We don't. We place average at 5, which is exactly where it should be on a 10-point scale. So when you normalize those two things, actually we're on the same page as them.

Oli's a top bloke; he wouldn't artifically inflate a score. He's one of the most honest journos in the business.

We don't agree with his take in this instance (as our review goes to show), but his review is a great example of just how some games can split opinion. :)

That sounds to us more that she doesn't want to be called a gamer, purely because she doesn't want to associate herself with the culture - despite admitting that plenty of women play games.

The violence correlation stuff is a complete tangent that is irrelevant.

It's true that games are primarily made by, and marketed to, men; but all that proves is that it's a male-dominated industry, not that the community itself is male-dominated.

If we all agreed all the time, life would be boring.

And we'd be out of a job!

6 is "ok" on our scale. We use the full range, unlike sites which seem to think a 10-point scale begins at 7.

5 is average, 6 is "ok", 7 is "decent", 8 is "great", 9 is "excellent", 10 is "essential."

Things beneath a 5 are varying degrees of bad. The lowest we've ever gone was a 2, which was for X: Rebirth. God knows what would get a 1 from us; it would probably need to literally not even load. ...
