Already playing. It's very good - see you in game!
It's very enjoyable, if a bit rough around the edges presentation-wise.
Keep an eye out on the site - we have a FFXV preview coming up in the next couple of days, and a re-evaluation of FFXIV, a year since our initial review.
Not particularly excited about this yet, but if they do a good job it could be a nice alternative to all the usual milirary shooters.
MegaTen games seem to have that effect on people!
What depresses us is that old games, which often inspire new games, are frequently overlooked and disregarded as players are constantly on the hunt for the newest thing.
I think the article says it very well: "Without System Shock 2, there’d be no Bioshock. Without Elite, there’d be no Eve Online. A world where Wolfenstein 3D was never made doesn’t even bear thinking about."
Says person who hasn't played the game.
Besides, there's nothing wrong with going against the grain and not liking a game, as long as you're being honest with your opinion. Since when did it become a crime to break from consensus?
It's not the same source as the person who leaked the existence of the game last week. Different person entirely.
Vagrant Story is very much connected to Final Fantasy, considering it's set in the same universe as Tactics and Final Fantasy XII.
And Dirge of Cerberus was utter bobbins. It belongs on a list of the worst series spinoffs, not the best ;)
As it happens, we actually did discuss adding Chocobo Mystery Dungeon and Crystal Chronicles to the list, but ultimately decided that those games didn't quite hit the must-play quality bar. But don't worry - we ...
should also be noted that a 6 on CP is "above average". It's not a bad score by any means, just one reflecting that a game has flaws which prevent it from being essential.
it was ok, but in slme ways Telltale are a victim of their own success.
Slow paced, struggling with getting to the point, etc. It would also be nice seeing them give their engine a much-needed overhaul and stop relying on their own formula. they need to start mixing things up, because someone is going to come along and beat them at their own game if they don't.
This is "news"?
That should be a comma, not a decimal. Overwise it looks like it's only sold 500 copies :p
ive always struggled to get into them. I bought MH3U ultimate on Wii U, but found the camera genuinely spoiled any enjoyment. Very tempted by this however, though I may wait to see if theres a a Wii U HD port.
@izumo_lee
NVM, realized you were being sarcastic :p
Well it's hardly surprising given that the site is skewed to PlayStation anyway. Its name should be the first hint!
Game Informer places "average" at 7.5 though, which means they think The Order is barely above average.
Not all scores use the same scale guidelines...
It was announced as a launch title, IIRC.
"Much has already been made of The Order's running time - I clocked it in around 7 hours - though, regardless of the length, corners have clearly been cut and there's heavy padding."
So even at 7 hours - around half of which is cutscenes - it STILL feels like it's been padded out?
Crikey.
"We're left with characters without any discernible character."
"Ready at Dawn has wasted its won...
its not illegal to break an embargo, theyre not legally binding at all. The worst you could expect is to be blacklisted from receiving future copies. And even then, you need to have agreed to an embargo in the first place. Many people have received the game already due to a number of retailers shipping it early.
Oh don't worry, our review of Bloodborne is going live later today.
Hint: It fares much better ;)
