Not sure whats up with the disagrees. Right now the Wii U is the best selling home console in Japan and the PS4 has yet to take off, if he were to make a game for Sony he'd best put it on the Vita.
To be honest the only game exclusive to PS4/Xbone that lived up to the hype of fans was probably Infamous. Even that isnt really unanimous.
For me:
1. DKC: TF
2. Pikmin 3
3. Wolfenstein
4. Infamous: SS
5. The Wonderful 101
...6. Resogun :P
Of course i did. I criticized the clickbait title not the article.
By saying "girls" she refers to every female player including herself.
If she said "feminists" she would be referring to feminists.
Wow, that sounds like hours of fun right there.
Still, 7% seems really low. I never thought of miiverse as such a sausagefest.
Once animal crossing comes out though...
I can't really think of any reason why the number would be this low. I think he mixed up his statistics. I see a lot of girls on miiverse, and most of them probably use the eshop.
Lets say theres roughly 7 million wii u's. Taking 90% of that and then 70% of that number, and finally 7% of the last one, that's like 309,000 females on the eshop. Naaaah
If they did they would have to make a bigger system, the current one is too small to include anything but flash memory.
That would be pretty funny if they released a fat Wii U after a slim one.
Wow what a clickbait title. It's coming from a female author as well.
Retitle: "Why Feminists Can't Handle Video Games"
Yeah im not gonna lie i expected it to have slipped back into third on a weekly basis, but its been beating XB1 every week since the end of May. People thought i was being a hater or xbox fanboy or something whenever i said that, but i really am glad to be wrong in this case.
We'll see what MCC and SOD do for the xbone, but Wii U has some heavy hitters this year as well.
I dont think we've had a direct since that MK8 one in May or April.
Capcom is infamous for developing the DLC before launch, putting it as a locked file on the disc, and then having players purchase what is basically a 5-10 dollar "key" to unlock it.
Its just sort of seen as abuse of DLC and greed on capcom's part.
@lilbro
If he wasn't a fan, chances are he wouldnt be buying a PS4 (which he did, and then complained about the BC). He also began his career on PS with RE2 and DMC1.
I think people took that comment waaaay too seriously.
I think people underestimate the effect this would have in a horror game. Imagine all the times you felt overwhelmed and hid behind a inventory/map screen. Now imagine a game you couldn't pause, you had to check your map, manage inventory in real time. That would be awesome.
The thing is it did come out in Europe and sold like crap.
I really think the big-budget title needs to die on the wide scale it currently is, the whole development process has become so bloated and expensive. Every time there is one, over the 3-4 years of development they start to sidetrack and include tacked-on multiplayer, contrived gameplay to imitate something popular, etc. because they feel the need to appeal to the lowest common denominator to make a profit. Imagine if every other game had to be Shenmue-budgeted back in the day, the industry w...
Yeah i have to admit this is strange coming from the guy who made Wii Music...
Though it does make sense coming from the bastard who made Lost Levels >:(
But that would be a slap in the face to most of their customers back then.
The casual audience has always been there, ever since the PS2 particularly. Not saying the PS2's audience was totally casual, that's clearly false, but it invited a lot of casuals.
5th gen totals: approx 145 million
6th gen totals: approx 210 million
7th gen totals: approx 260 million
And this was with the 7th gen consoles selling longer (the PS2 was the only console with that kind of longevity 6th gen). The casual audience he's re...
@Foxtrot
Hmm... fair enough. Although i dont get a sloppy seconds mentality. To be fair they really tried to convince the hardcore with the Gamecube, and they did a damn good job. It was just the image of the system and a contagious mentality that they were kiddy, when back then i'd argue they werent any more so than Sony or MS. But yeah, i can mostly agree with that. I think they shouldve waited and released the console alongside the PS4/XB1. Those two are in a drought ...
Im confused. What do you think they shouldve done?
And don't say "should've never gone after casuals in the first place", that much is obvious and has been obvious. But you can't change the past, only reflect on it and learn from it, which they are doing to an extent.
I personally don't take any offense to them coming back... that was the best course of action.
@gangsta
Two different beasts, i think. Nint...
@lilbro
That wasnt really my point, but NOA is very annoying.
I was saying they focused too much on trying to appeal to a country with a limited market for consoles. Especially since its clear huge games like MK8 and Hyrule Warriors have done little to shift hardware. Fatal Frame, Monster Hunter, etc. are all good games but they have niche appeal outside of Japan. I think they should fund a title that is popular to the hardcore in the west. Like AC or Residen...
Obviously they were doing better a few days after MK launched, no one game can keep the Wii U that far up for that long, but before MK it was selling like 30k-40k global a week, now its fluctuating between 50-60k a week. All the Japanese games coming out this year as well as Smash will raise the baseline even more.
