Im curious to see how Hyrule Warriors does in the west. Theres definitely way more interest than the usual DW games, but its also on a smaller platform.
I wouldnt pin blame on those three.
The truth is, almost every problem can be rooted to the design decisions behind the N64. Before Iwata had a prominent position or Reggie was involved at all. If it werent for the cartridge format, third parties would have been more supportive, and the system itself would've been more affordable. If you think about it, even with its great games, its a wonder Nintendo sold 33 million on a system who's library was so small it was surpa...
Rockstar cant make the list as long as they keep making it harder and harder to make money in GTA V to sell their microtransactions. They used to be one of the best DLC supporters too.
The funny thing is they had a pretty decent library for Japan in the early 360 days. They had Dead Rising, Lost Planet, Blue Dragon, Lost Odyssey, Monster Hunter Frontier all exclusive or timed exclusive. Its just clear that they cant make a dent there, theyve had a bad reputation since the beginning. The launch of the original Xbox wasnt bad over there, but they failed to support it very well at all and that doomed the Xbox brand to a cult status.
The 360 actually has a sur...
How are people not sick of those games yet, jesus.
I think the fusion is BS, but i think nintendo should take inspiration from it. Their relevance in the console market has been falling, but their handhelds are still wildly successful. To bridge those two products into one would be wise. Also it would probably allow them to provide a steady stream of software for one platform rather than an inconsistent one for two.
I understand the importance of this scandal not being ignored, or at least the argument behind that mindset, but does anyone honestly expect anything to change because of this?
This seedy crap goes on everywhere.
I havent trusted gaming journalism since the Kane and Lynch scandal with Gamespot.
Ps4 sales in Japan will pick up from this conference alone.
I've been saying the Wii U could lead Japan kind of like the Saturn but the PS4 could very well own Japan too.
They need to convince Japanese gamers that consoles are still worthwhile, as the Vita is only just picking up and the console market as a whole is increasingly small over there. I would hate to see Japanese games become even more absent on consoles.
It seems odd because this game was slated for 2014, first worldwide, then only in japan. Then it was slated for 2015 worldwide.
I hope this is a good star fox game. To be honest i wasnt entirely convinced by the motion controls a couple of different websites detailed at e3.
Imagine a star fox game with online dogfights and stuff... would be so awesome.
Also Xenoblade X doesnt even have a window for 2015. The prospect of waiting another 9 months for that game is unbearable.
Knack was bundled with every console for the Japanese launch. Im curious how much it sold outside of those numbers.
I wish that game was more successful in its execution so it couldve sold better and we could see more games like the PS1- era platformer.
No ones denying the Xbone isnt selling better in the big picture, just that the Wii U is outselling it now and in the forseeable future as it has the better holiday line- up.
I wouldnt bet on either console to be honest, all MS or Nintendo needs is their next new system seller and they could jump ahead of the other.
Then they should've put it on the Wii U, or hell even the Wii U eshop. Or better yet, their real next handheld. Which by the way, theres no way they just gave the same name to their next gen handheld. This is equavilent to the DSi. I think they wanted to make it clear this wasnt the case and that they werent leaving the 3DS, and that's why this name was chosen.
They had day1 dlc with Mario Golf World Tour, that was their only real fault.
But Bethesda has always made good use of DLC.
They made the right choice. The RE formula was becoming stale to a lot of gamers, what they missed was their opportunity to return to that style with more innovation when RE4 style went stale.
So you're saying this is Nintendo's new generation handheld? ...Nah.
This thing will have a few retail exclusives and maybe perks on universal 3DS games before it is forgotten in the wake of a new Nintendo handheld. It'll sell a few million units. Something tells me it'll be the proud new owner of the most expensive version of Xenoblade in 5 years, and that's saying something.
This thing gets dumber and dumbed the more i ponder it tbh. I...
I really want to know where the budget went on that game. No online features, very slow and frequent loading, no where in that game did it feel like anything above a budget title. It wasnt a bad game to be fair, i could see some love in it, but it was not an impressive game in any sense.
I think if it werent for the rocky development we'd be seeing a sequel.
The 3ds is popular enough that they can probably afford to do this and still turn a profit. The DSi for example did well because it offered enough incentive to get, although it never had retail exclusives, just digital downloads.
But the Wii U will probably never be popular enough for them to release a minutely upgraded version. That'd be the equivalent of the innumerable failed attatchments like the 32X or 64DD, except now for a less successful system. Theyd be better o...
It all depends on how long they support it. If they did like MS and Sony, they would support it another 3-4 years at least. But if they're ready to move on earlier they should, the early 2011 to late 2012 period where they pretty much ignored the wii killed all momentum going into its successor.
If the Wii u's around until 2017, it'll probably hit at least 25. With some aggressive advertisement and some consistently released software it could even beat the n64 (th...
Its crazy how well it launched and then how quickly it dropped. Sony and Nintendo need to push their consoles, if Japanese devs dont have the install base to make a profit then they'll continue to switch to handhelds and mobiles. Rising development costs wont help either.
I know the Japanese games are coming but they can't come soon enough.
