part of the perks of being a reviewer is you get access to final builds of games before other people. so if they played the whole game, and you only played the beta, who do you think has more experience with the game and has a better understanding for overall quality?

COD4 did nothing to advance FPS as a genre. it's just a run of the mill shooter.
and, in fact, you can't really compare other FPS to Half Life or Half Life 2 because they take FPS in a completely different direction.

this generation of consoles is just now catching last generation of PC. you don't need a top end PC to run new games at console quality. consoles have no AA / AF and they are generally scaled up resolution.
play farcry 2 or Fallout 3 on a top end pc and look at it next to a console on an HD TV. it's not even close.
Even Half Life 2 looked better on PC 4 years ago than it does now on console.

i have a ps3 and i agree with the statement. the only game on ps3 that has held my interest for the duration was ratchet and clank and MAYBE MGS4. resistance i beat, heavenly sword i beat, and uncharted i beat, but i thought they were mediocre and i just did it so i could say i did. and R2 was so boring and typical i couldn't finish it. I did really regret getting my ps3 for a long time.
now i think it's cool this game is getting good reviews, but so did a lot of other games ...
