But I really enjoy excite truck alot, it's such a stupid over the top game. I really got into the controls which seemed alien for a few minutes (old habits die hard), but although it doesn't take that long to get through I think the replay value's pretty good.

I was well surprised that you cant use SD cards for anything not even save games!? the only possible use i have found for it is for music in excite truck.
Thats part of my reluctance to get VC games, I would rather have a physical transportable back up of whatever I buy.
Amazing game, Glad they finally got this released. I already have 2 copies for the snes though.
So it probably is worth it to MS to have general perception that their game has an advantage.
This game going over alone was probably enough inscentive for some (more casual) gamers to get a 360 as opposed to ps3.

How could they have done this idea with an expensive system? it would have been way too much of a gamble to release a machine as powerful as the 360 and PS3 with a new way to control as standard. If it had bombed the losses would be massive.
I think that even over half the country having one specific item is massive, compare the ownership of DS' to the amount of washing machines or summin.

I have no doubt the PS3 will fare well in a couple of years, but to catch up any time in the near future it needs to start doing alot better.
I think people also tend to forget the amount of gamers who wait a while to enter the next gen. Rather than buy the first system that comes out, they prefer to wait until the competition comes out before deciding what they buy (unless they are die hard fans of that particular console, or are willing to get all of them).

since they have remade III for the DS, now IV, seems lodgical that eventually it will happen (plus square loves to milk rabid fans). Personally I dont think it needs it, while the 2d games completly change in a 3d environment ffVII was the first of that sort in the series (despite static backgrounds). 6 was the greatest anyway.

Surely third parties should be able to create really good original games as the dev costs are so much less, they can take more risks.
if nintendo had released an uber powerful console with the wii controls the chance of any devs creating ideas exclusivly for it would have been impossible due to this generations massive development costs.

I still enjoy Pokemon, Mario, and probably a hoard of other games that some would consider kiddy. As long as some people buy them I should imagine that they will continue to make them.
