I did. It rules.
Sorry, you're dead wrong if you think GTAIV upset more than a small percentage of internet folk. The name "Grand Theft Auto" is, believe it or not, just as powerful as Call of Duty in the "real world". 14 million is an easy target for this brand regardless of its quality.
I think you should do yourself a favor and pick it up anyway. Sincerely one of the best games ever made.
I have all of these installed anyway. :)
Rayman Origins and Fez are both top tier games. I really need to try Trials Evolution sometime.
At least someone in the industry gets it.
No, that isn't what I said. I never made any qualitative judgments of the story or its content. I'm criticizing the authors stance that because the game used cinematic elements well, it's somehow a triumph for gaming as a story-telling medium. What I'm arguing is that it isn't an accomplishment, because it does nothing to move the medium forward in terms of story-telling. Like I said in my first comment, using text or cutscenes doesn't make a story bad, it's just n...
Yes. Why?
Sorry, but how can a game that relies mostly on cutscenes to tell a story be an accomplishment for video game story-telling? That's a cinematic accomplishment, not a video game accomplishment. Video games need to stop relying on cutscenes or text to tell stories, they need to tell them through action and interactivity. That is not to say that game stories that use these are inherently bad, it's just the wrong advancement to be making. It's like if a movie stopped every fifteen min...
Nice contradiction in the opening paragraph. Using comic book panels to tell a story is an example of video games struggling to find their own "grammar" in story-telling but using Hollywood methods isn't? Uhhh okay.
Terrible game.
Surprise surprise. This makes sense, since it seems like THHD is a test to see if the franchise is still profitable. The whole idea is to reel in on nostalgia and making DLC is probably much cheaper than making more games to see if people will bite again. Oh yeah, and this is Activision.
Shattered Memories is criminally underrated. It might not be terrifying but it's a great atmospheric adventure game. I loved it.
Is MLB even popular outside of the US and Japan?
Mostly disappointment but some hype too.
Microsoft's conferences are generally pretty hilarious. I have no bias toward the company at all, but they consistently make a fool of themselves at E3. This year I might have a drinking game where I take a shot every time they show a trailer of an already announced game, show off useless DLC, or try to reel in casual gamers with gimmicky software/hardware. Two shots when they bring out an irrelevant "celebrity" to hype one of these. Theres a good chance I'll be hammered ten...
Assassin's Creed and God of War really don't belong on this list. Both games were hyped extensively, especially Assassin's Creed.
Make another Jedi Knight game you morons.
Great deal, great game.
Duck Hunt. The future is now.
