I also love watching them, but I do feel they're almost too staged.
Nobody's THAT perfect.

(Looks at numbers)
Nintendo says hello.

I do love my PS3 though. And my DS. And my PS2. (Yes, I still play it, mainly Resident Evil 4 though, so that could be finished with soon) And my PS1. (RIP :( ) And my PSP. And my Mega Drive. And my Gameboy. And my PC. And I'd love to get my hands on any other console too. I love software, not hardware.

I'd love to have both, but I can't afford to.
Still, I can appreciate the 360 as a decent console.
I've had a Playstation for the last 12 years though, so there was no choice for me this generation.
The position of the d-pad and analogue stick is too deeply ingrained.
At least, that's my excuse when my cousin beats me in FIFA on the 360 at his house! :P

I live in Ireland.
We get grey skies, on a good day. :P
I know what you're saying, but the Japanese market is weird enough to do that.
Example being the PSP outselling the 3DS, which is really strange when you consider it's less powerful, and the NGP is due this year.

It's not as big a problem as you might think.
Compression is a useful technique used for both 360 games and PSN downloads, where a game that takes up most a blu-ray disc isn't very desirable.
There are a lot of games that were released on 360 which filled the DVD to capacity whilst taking up 2 or 3 times more room on the PS3 version because the devs didn't have to compress it.
Processors are fast enough now to only add miniscule amounts of loading time too,...

Yup.
Sony, you've unleashed the interest in Warhawk again.
Turn on the PSN so I can play it again!
And while you guys are at it, give the community a boost- make it one of the free games.
I already have it from the PSN, but it would be brilliant if a load of noobs were added, 'cos I'm crap. :P

I'm thinking the art style is closer to Unreal Tournament III than Halo, but anyways...
It could be set in the land of the pink polka dotted rainbows and I wouldn't care- IT'S WARHAWK 2! :D

It's one free month on top of getting one day extra for every day the PSN was down.
So we're not losing anything, but gaining an extra month.

The point of a beta escapes you, doesn't it?
They're supposed to be a limited test of multiplayer features, not a demo or standalone game.
Besides 2 PS3 games, as well as a free month of PS+ is surely more than enough.

Is it definitely confirmed for PS+?
If it is, great!

I agree with the confusing points system, I don't understand why they didn't just say 2000 points = $20 or something.
But the first drawback you mentioned... It exists on the PSN as well. Or am I missing something like an option to get your money back before your next purchase?
Because that would be cool. It would mean I could buy a €20 PSN card for a €14.99 game and get the €5.01 refunded to my debit card, which would probably lead to me buying more cards.

This is a poor article, simply because the author seemingly ignores the existence of PSN cards.
But... I would love Sony to try to push them more.
At present (in Ireland) I can only get them in specialist game shops (as opposed to anywhere they sell Playstation games) and only in €20 or €50 denominations.
If I use my debit card, I can spend any amount I choose to (as long as it's over €5), right down to the last cent.
Seeing as there are a lot of great game...

Wahey!
Although this could make me fail my exams...
Who needs college anyway?! :P
Bit disappointed we'll have to wait longer for the store though- that's what I miss the most, most online games bore me after so long of playing the same maps and modes.
PSN games are often a good distraction, and are cheap and easy to get into. Plus Outland and Gattling Gears look amazing!
And, of course, I want my goodies! :) I'm a PS+ member, so I should h...

We know which one was tougher. :P

@Dread
Christmas 2008.
That's when xbox live went down, for over two weeks. So, yes, it has happened. Mind you, data wasn't accessed, which is a good thing. (But if you check my above comments, I said the PSN being down was good, nothing about the user data being accessed)
And to be fair, data was accessed or possibly accessed from the PSN. That is obviously bad.
But as so far, not a single person has actually had that data used, the theory that the dat...

Yeah.
I bought MW2 when it came out, and Black Ops when the price was reduced, but both have been traded after only a short time.
Modern Warfare is still a favourite though, and stays on my shelf. Oh, and I do like Call of Duty Classic that came with my Modern Warfare 2. Far more than the actual game I bought in fact.
The worst thing about those games for me is the community though. Most whiny little bastards seem to play Call of Duty all day long.

It's not like it's never happened on Live before.
It'll come back, just hopefully not until it can cause me to fail my exams! :P

They may be milking customers, but they can only charge what people are willing to pay.
I got bored of Call of Duty a few years ago, and it doesn't seem like you're a big fan either, but the thing is...
We don't have to buy it.
