The general consensus is that this is a pile of bull.
Perhaps a better explanation for the sudden crashing of a number of PS3's is if those people who only ever played online left their PS3 get dusty when the PSN was down and never cleaned it.
And that's a stretch.
It's more than likely a coincidence that some PS3's crashed after the update, there's a story like this after every major update.
Every firmware update is blamed for crashing consoles.
Given that neither Sony nor Microsoft have ended up in court over this despicable practice of deliberately killing consoles through an update yet, I'm going to go with coincidence.
Electronic goods always break, but when one breaks soon after an update, an easy scapegoat presents itself.
Also, the rewriting of the code which is basically the entirety of the console is presumably a delicate process which should ...
How long was this a problem if they wrote a way into the firmware to detect the error?
This can't have just been realised today, or even in the last week or so.
First Sony, now Microsoft, I'm sick of BOTH gaming companies seemingly taking us for granted. I won't go to Nintendo though (I'm a graphics whore, but can't afford a decent gaming PC), but I am seriously cheesed off at Sony's response to customers (happy with free games, but unhappy that they se...
This mightn't be given to everyone.
It might be one of those 'first ten thousand to download this theme enter the beta' things that I hate. I never get there on time.
The God of War one was good.
I liked the Gears of War one as well, although it somehow made The Rock look tiny! :P
They cut two desks, not two cases.
As in, the Vice or Homicide desks.
That's a hell of a lot more than two cases.
I can’t believe people are complaining.
This really is way above and beyond what I was expecting and hoping for.
While I do own 4 out of the 5 PS3 games, and 2 of the 4 PSP games, I am delighted to be getting inFamous (never had that before), and Little Big Planet (time to trade my disc) onto my hard-drive. I have Wipeout, it’s one of my favourite games, Ratchet is as charming and fun as always, and Dead Nation is releatively recent, and the little I’ve played of it was quite ...
Bioshock, Grand Theft Auto, Pro Evo and Madden as timed exclusives?
Battlefield 3, Metal Gear Solid, being the best version you can get?
Where are the games that sold well on the Wii? The Fitness or the Dance games?
Hardcore games just didn't sell, but that's the route Nintendo want to take?
I detect a steaming pile of horseshit.
Still, if it were to be proved true, it would be awesome.
It is, at least in the EU anyway.
We (in Europe) are getting two PS3 games out of a list of 5, or two PSP games out of a list of five.
That's all the information we have, though.
Don't know what will make up the lists, or whether people who own both a PS3 and a PSP get 4 games in total, or just one or the other.
Some of those attacks are truly disgusting.
I hope the FBI manages to catch some of those Ops leaders, because they deserve prison time.
The Epilepsy Foundation attack organisers barely deserve a trial.
You're allowed to mod or upgrade a PC.
Not hacking it, in the actual sense of the word 'hack.'
You signed up to a user agreement, and, simply put, you gave your word to obey the rules of your console's manufacturer, whether it be Sony, Microsoft, Nintendo or Sega...
When you violate them, you have in effect broken your word, unless you have also broken the law at the same time, as sadly these user agreements are not legally binding, strictly sp...
The first part of your comment displeased me to the extent I had the cursor over disagree.
I moved it when I saw the end of your comment though. :)
Forget that, I just want to walk into game and see a new NES game advertised. It would be brilliant.
The blu-ray disc is full for LA Noire.
The motion-cap stuff takes up a massive amount of space, apparently.
That's why it's on more than one disc for the 360.
I agree with the point that an exclusive generally performs better on one platform than a multiplat.
However, it goes both ways- 360 exclusives normally look better than multiplats too.
If you only concentrate on one platform, you'd have to be a poor developer not to make it better tha...
Could the building system become the new must-have in shooters, like COD's perks?
It's got to be for Wii, it's too soon for Pokemon Grey.
They normally wait at least a year, don't they?
The community is strong- I only joined around January, and I've never struggled to get into a match.
Just go for it.
My most envied game was Alan Wake- it seemed like it was designed with my personal tastes in mind, right up until I was told it was a 360 exclusive! Wasn't enough for me to buy a new console though.
I think you're both right.
It's not a sequel in the traditional sense, but it is part of that series.
Then again, can you have a sequel when there is no single-player?
What makes a sequel? Is it continuation of a story line, something taking place in the same universe, or something else altogether?
Great, now I'm confused...
@Arnon
I think he means that Heavy Rain's textures look more realistic, but when they move, the movement doesn't feel right.
LA Noire loses the physical detail, but nails the behaviour of the skin and muscles in the face, so it looks more natural.
At least, that's what I think anyway. Both games are awesome.
