So most people who own a 360 will get the xb1? That stuff never works that way dude...
The wii was a great success. It was a good thing for all gamers. It brought sooo many people in contact with games that would never have touched them before. My friggin mother has a wii. My wife is a regulare gamet now, all because of the wii.
I really hope people wont buy console successors blindly. If you spend money on something, make sure you really want that. Fuck brand loyality.
Then you have missed some of the greatest games from the last few years...
GTA was always on pc since the first one in 1997. Just btw...
Let's talk a out this in 2014 again after xb1 ps4 launch. Wiiu had at least downwards compatibility, the other new consoles don't have that. There are some launch titles but will that be enough? We simply don't know yet. What happened to wiiu might as well happen to ps4 xb1. Best indication for that is Gta v not even being announced yet. Most enthusiastic gamers here will get one of the new systems anyway but those are not the masses that count.
The wiiu has great value a...
My thoughts on the unboxing:
-Cant wait to try out that controller, it looks amazing.
-All the stuff you need on the actual console, enough ports and 500gb hd.
-A system that is about as huge as my desktop pc but still an external power brick?
-That kinect is huge! If I ever buy an xb1 ill wait till they release one without kinect. If not - no xb1 for me.
-The headset looks uncomfortable and very cheap.
@mikeslemonade: yeah... why would you buy one on launch? Its just not worth it for those 5 games... Same goes for ps4.
Its kinda funny. As a PC gamer I already have my coop/MMO experiences behind me. Consoles are just late to the party because the 360/ps3 couldnt really handle it (and i still cant imagine playing one without keyboard).
It gets old after a while. There was about a 2 year period where i only played MMOs and Co-op games and then it stopped. It consumes way too much time and I missed stories in games. You can't do stories the same way in mmo games. That's a huge problem imho.
So far Devs used about 10% of the gamepads potential. When they use it properly it's absolutely awesome though. Imagine Gta 5 with full 2nd screen integration. Should be pure awesomeness.
Well its the same gameplay since wolfenstein. And CoD brought that gameplay nearly to perfection. Yes it has problems and yes its frustrating because of it, but the gameplay is still fun and people will play it because of that.
And CoD just hits a nerve with people. The Fifa series is much worse imho... Its the same game every year since 1998. People absolutely love it. I can't understand it either.
Ok i can answer to that :)
Thats because you guys are fine with buying and gaming CoD every year. You have noo idea what you are missing not having games like Starcraft 2 or Torchlight etc...
Absolutely agree. I think its not just the "plug and go system" though, PCs nowadays are almost as plug and go as consoles... Buy on steam, wait for patches to install, click start - off you go.
I think a big reason is the branding. People love to have a branded product that they can identify with and defend on the internet... Its kinda stupid but thats the way humans are :)
Those console gamers put us PC gamers all in the same pot, but they fail to see that...
Guys please... You can't just compare that stuff like this. Wall of text inc.
1. issue: Gaming laptops are bullshit. They are optimized to use as little power as possible, they usually have special (mobile) graphics chips which are way slower than regular desktop cards. You can't compare a mobile device with a home console or desktop PC, different philosophy.
2. issue: Optimization and ports. a PC example first: Crysis came out in 2007. NO way could t...
People played shooters since duke nukem 3d. They wont stop now you.
I don't get it either. Most people complaining don't e even own the system. The online is very nice. Blops2 runs very nice and works out of the box with voice chat and everything. For free!
I don't see the problem... I have never seen a wii u owner complain about the system other that there is a lack of games (which are coming...).
I agree. It died when the guys who created Final Fantasy started leaving Square Enix. I think it was around FFX (the old devs where still very involved in FF IX which was developed alongside FFX, and as advisors for FFX - if I remember correctly that is :) ). It was also the moment when Square Enix started sucking at a whole...
Even though I loved games like FFVII I don't want Square Enix to do a remake of that game. I'm almost certain they would fuck it up... They just don...
Hehe I'm going to take part of this! :) But my list will be different, I'm trying to list the games that I played the most with and came back to time and time again!
-Just Cause 2: One of these days I will get 100%... "That was fun!" (Rico Rodriguez)
-Assassin's Creed Series: I see this series as one game basically. If I had to pick a favorite, it would be Revelations.
-Mass Effect 2: The other two titles in the series were good too but s...
Cant see the wii u doom anymore...
It's simple imho.. Every game should be on as many platforms as possible.
You are right, I understand their decision and its probably the right one :) But it sucks! And it will probably prevent me from buying a PS4 in the launch period. My goal is to play the games I like, I don't care which system their on... Atm I'm playing Kindom Hearts II on PS2, TLOU on PS3, Starcraft 2 and Just Cause 2 (I will never stop playing that awesome game!!!) on my PC and Final Fantasy VII on my Smartphone (emulator, because I can).
Long story short, the xb1 and ps4 of...
I bought the wii u on day one and knew exactly what I was getting into. And I wasn't disappointed at all. Played mass effect, ac3, batman zombiu right at the start, later on i got black ops and the nfs game. And darksiders 2. With the virtual console I got plenty of games. And now it gets even better. Of course if you have a ps3 or 360 why buy another system, but for me it was the perfect addition to my gaming pc.
